Embossing Powder Techniques from A to Z

The week went by fast while our design team was having fun sharing some of their favorite techniques from the Embossing Powder Techniques from A to Z book. This book is a great tool to have by your side when you want something new to do with those embossing powders in your stash or for a refresher in the basics of embossing.

HT400 Embossing Heat Tool

Another great tool and one essential to embossing with powders is a heat tool. We now carry the HT400 Embossing Heat Tool that is durable and built to last for all those embossing projects ahead.

We’ve enjoyed bringing you a full week of more techniques from the book and there are still more to see today!

Steampunk Embossed Canvas by Fran Seiford

It’s another fabulous day on our week with techniques from Fran’s book on embossing powders and our team has gone a step further adding Dreamweaver Stencils into the mix of supplies. Here are a few card projects below from our stenciling expert designers, Pam Hornschu and Louise Healy.

The technique they used was the Molten Magic with letter”P” and is a popular one with our design team for a great effect on cards and scrapbook pages. We can’t wait to see how the designers today combine their stencils with a technique from the book.

Embossing in Poppy Puddles

 poppy_FS_800

Beautiful flowers on chipboard can be made with only embossing powders and a piece of chipboard. Fran Seiford created these poppy canvas pieces with the puddle painting technique on an electric griddle and we have a great video that gives you a glimpse of how easily she can create wonderful landscapes.

Fran compiled this technique and many others using embossing powders in one great place with her new book, Embossing Powder Techniques from A to Z, for a great resource within arms reach of your embossing supplies. Let’s see what today’s designers chose within the pages of this book for their projects!

Embossing Across the Ocean

In February Fran Seiford, Stampendous founder, attended CHSI Stitches 2016 in Europe to share Stampendous in our UK distributor’s, Woodware Craft Collection, booth. While she was there she took three days to spend time on HOCHANDA TV bringing with her lots of ideas and products for making projects using her book, Embossing Powder Techniques from A to Z.

Here is Fran on Hochanda TV with Leonie Pojul going through all the fantastic products used to create fun colorful, shimmery and glossy embossed projects.

Fran’s been creating these gorgeous tiles with melted embossing powder using an electric griddle. They’re really fun and easy to do. And the tiles are ending up on gorgeous canvases like the one above. Even just as a miniature work of art, they’re quite stunning. Have a look at these below.

This technique is shared on several videos on our YouTube channel as well as in Fran’s new book. And this week, we’ve asked our Design Team to share some additional embossing techniques with you! Yep, it’s another whole week of embossing inspiration!! So warm up your heat tool, or electric griddle, (but remember to unplug them when you’re done for the day!) and join us in melting some wonderful, colored powders!!

Melt Media Magic

Were you able to catch the livestream event Stampendous did with Charity Wings this afternoon? Hopefully it will be up on Charity Wings YouTube channel soon so you can see it if you missed it.

They filmed and interviewed our very own Fran Seiford from the SPC Mixed Media Show today, and Fran had an opportunity to share her Melt Media Technique with Elena.

Fran Demonstrates Melt Media

This terrific technique uses embossing powders as an art medium, not just for stamping, any more. With an electric griddle as a steady heat source, Fran uses the vast array of Stampendous embossing powders to make incredible pieces of art.  She uses the powders to paint some incredible scenes on chipboard “tiles” then adheres them to mixed media canvases.

These incredible creations and lots more can be seen in the Tips and Techniques section of our website. You’ll also find complete directions there for this amazing look. We’ll also be linking the videos soon. It’s really exciting! We can’t wait to see if you try something similar! Do share what you make with us on our Facebook Page or Flickr Group!

Beautiful Butterflies

Our Spring Collage images are just perfect for a quick and colorful card! Pick certain areas to color, color the whole thing, don’t color any of it! Stamp on patterned paper for a quick card, or layer over many other images for a textured wonder! These great images are super simple to use.

You’ll notice that each of the images has a “space” that’s perfect for a greeting! Well, our Quotes greetings sets have lots of words that fit beautifully in those spaces.  They are:
