Melt Media Magic

Were you able to catch the livestream event Stampendous did with Charity Wings this afternoon? Hopefully it will be up on Charity Wings YouTube channel soon so you can see it if you missed it.

They filmed and interviewed our very own Fran Seiford from the SPC Mixed Media Show today, and Fran had an opportunity to share her Melt Media Technique with Elena.

Fran Demonstrates Melt Media

This terrific technique uses embossing powders as an art medium, not just for stamping, any more. With an electric griddle as a steady heat source, Fran uses the vast array of Stampendous embossing powders to make incredible pieces of art.  She uses the powders to paint some incredible scenes on chipboard “tiles” then adheres them to mixed media canvases.

These incredible creations and lots more can be seen in the Tips and Techniques section of our website. You’ll also find complete directions there for this amazing look. We’ll also be linking the videos soon. It’s really exciting! We can’t wait to see if you try something similar! Do share what you make with us on our Facebook Page or Flickr Group!

  1. YES! I was watching it live and totally freaking out!! Absolutely love watching Fran create!! She has such fran-tastic and innovative ideas!! It is always a blast to tune in to her videos!! I am definitely going to be giving this awesome technique a try! I went to the basement today and searched through boxes and boxes of stuff to find my electric skillet so that I can use it for this!! Thanks to Fran for the inspiration!
