The Butterflies of Spring

Stampendous friend, Donna Cennimo, a decorative painter, created this gorgeous canvas featuring Stampendous butterflies and embossing powders. We are so excited that she shared them with us, and we thought you’d enjoy seeing this wonderfully colored nod to Spring.

Donna embossed each butterfly with two layers of Chunky Clear Embossing Powder then added colors as desired. She used Detail Black, Silver Tinsel, Purple, Blue, Chunky Gold and Chunky Silver on different areas of the butterflies. Then she attached them to one of her paintings and she has some left for other amazing projects.

Elements of Excitement – and A Winner!

Both of these techniques allow you to make dynamic cards with a ton of bling and excitement! A perfect example is this great card by Design Team Member Kristine Reynolds. You can click on it to see the project instructions and supplies.

This great card also features one of our brand new elements, Twinkle Glitter! This super cool glitter is ultra shiny and full of random shapes, so the light just bounces off of it in every direction. So lush and fantastic!

Part of Your World 1: Mermaids and More

Still more exciting is this gorgeous sample that Fran Seiford, Stampendous Owner and Founder, made with her fun and dynamic Encrusted Adhesive Technique!

 

This gorgeous card looks so lush and complex, but it’s so super-easy to make! Just cut your cardstock, stamp, color and die cut your mermaid and her fish friends, then grab a panel of your favorite double-sided adhesive sheets. We carry two kinds, Sticky Panels and the Dreamweaver Double-Sided Mounting Paper. Place your panel down on your cardstock. Peel off the protective sheet, and place your die cut images. Then fill in the space with color fragments, glitters, and the embossing powders/enamels of your choice. Heat to set, and MAGIC!  Want to see it in action? Check out the video below.

Beach Basics Wrap Up

It seems in just a few shakes of the jars from our Beach Embossing Powders Kit, it is already time to wrap up our inspiration week of Beach Basics projects with beautiful artwork by Fran Seiford.

Remember those great little chipboard pieces we posted at the beginning of the week? Fran gives them a mixed media style finish by adding them to canvas for impressive wall decor.

Stencil Thursdays, Beach Embossing Two Ways

We hope you are enjoying the Beach Basics theme this week and ready to double the embossing inspiration with our Thursday stencil products.

Pam Hornschu has a fantastic Canvas Trio project that shows off the fun layering that happens between embossing pastes, stenciling and heat embossing. Each canvas has great texture, dimension and a splash of embellishments sure to inspire.

This book is a great tool to have by your side when you want something new to do with those embossing powders in your stash or for a refresher in the basics of embossing.
