Welcome, ClearScraps!

We’re so excited this week because we get to play with the generous people at ClearScraps and share some inspiration with you.  How this came about…

Last year at we offered a workshop using ClearScraps 8 X 8 Sassy Mixables Album. I LOVED working with this product, and so did all our students. The workshop was such fun, and a huge success.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside Album by Laura Weed

Thanks to our generous friends at ClearScraps, Tsukineko, Bazzill, and American Crafts we were able to send our students home with an amazing project.

However, due to unfinalized enrollment numbers at the time, we brought home lots of extra albums… what to do? Of course…send them to our Designers (and save a few for YOU!)

At CHA I got to talk to my friends at ClearScraps, and they told me about their new Send It Clear acrylic greeting cards. An idea began to form. How about a blog collaboration with their design team where each member would make a project for the week and a separate one for the BIG Saturday Blog Hop! YES!

ClearScraps sent enough cards for our Design Team (and for YOU), our good buddies at Tsukineko sent inks for everybody (yes, YOU, too!), and we were off!

Acrylic products always look so cool in the store, but what do you do with it when you get it home? You’re about to find out! A whole week of the most luscious, fun, doable projects you’ve ever seen. AND there will be prizes! (here’s where the stuff for YOU comes in). We’ve got three huge prize packages to give away featuring Stampendous Class A’Peel Stickers, Stampendous Cling Rubber Stamps, Stampendous Perfectly Clear Stamps, a ClearScraps Album just like ours, two Send it Clear Cards from Clear Scraps, an additional ClearScraps product (varies), a colored StazOn ink pad from Tsukineko, an opaque StazOn pad from Tsukineko (with refill), some Sponge Daubers and some Ink Blushers from imagine Crafts/Tsukineko. Saturday Challenge – Texture Final Week

It’s time again for another Stampendous Saturday – this month we are challenging ourselves (and you!) to create projects with texture on them.  You can emboss, distress, add color fragments or glitter….the possibilities are endless!

This is the final week of our challenge and we’ve got some fun textured inspiration for you to enjoy.

CRS5032 Cling Jumbo Orchid by Pam Hornschu

Just look at this card Pam Hornschu made for our Design Team. It’s got so much texture it’s fairly bursting! The visual texture of the colored and black backgrounds, the layered flower, the additional layer of a butterfly sticker. WOW… this card POPS! She’s used our Cling Jumbo Orchid stamp set, our Cling Butterfly Post, and our retired Bella Butterflies stickers in Mirrored Silver (you may still find these at your local stamp store!) She’s even added textuer to her coloring on the flower by using textured cloth dipped in Copic Blending Solution to remove to color in textured patterns. Scrumptious!

Here is a list of the Stampendous team members playing along today:

Product Focus – Sacred Christmas Stamps

Every now and then (and not as often as I should) I like to open up our blog statistics and see how many folks are looking at our blog and what they’re looking for. This week several folks searched our blog for Nativity stamps, so I thought we’d post some terrific samples with some of our best sacred stamps in case you still need help with Christmas card ideas.

Design Team member Jennifer Dove made this fantastic card using our CRV186 Cling Sacred Silhouette (also available wood mounted, like all our cling stamps, as V186). If you click on these links you’ll be taken to the product page on our website for the products. Below each product are little pictures of sample cards. Double click those small pictures and they’ll get big. Then, click to enlarge to really see the detail. You can also drag or copy them to your desktop to save them for ideas. Cool, huh?  Here’s Jenn’s card. It’s a really easy one because she uses Class A’Peel Stickers to make it look fancy.

Sacred Silhouette by Jennifer Dove

Design Team Member Cyndi Bundy made this terrific card with CRP137 Cling Manger Scene (or in wood P137).  She also made a simple card look fancy with these Class A’Peel Stickers. She added the Precious Bundle Greeting, inking only part of it with a VersaMark pad, and embossing the whole thing in the new Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

Manger Scene by Cyndi Bundy

I have always loved this fantastic large Wisemen stamp of ours, and every year I breathe a huge sigh of relief when it makes the cut for another year. Our in-house Sample Artist, Debi Hammons, used our new Aged Embossing Enamels on this beautiful piece. She inked the stamp with VersaMark and stamped it. Then she sprinkled Aged Copper on the leftmost king, to remove the powder she tipped the card away from the other two wet kings and tapped off the excess copper. Then sprinkle the center king with Aged Gold, tip away from the remaining wet king and let the powder fall across the copper one. Sprinkle the remaining king and the star with Aged Silver and tap off the excess. Heat and WOW! Don’t they look regal? Adding our new L251 Seek Him (or CRL251 Cling Seek Him) greeting in Aged Gold was just the finishing touch! And that fancy looking background?? She sprayed Kraft card stock with instant coffee mixed very strong with water in our spray bottle! While the paper is wet, sprinkle a few extra coffee grounds on it to create a variety in intensity. Do all your backgrounds and let them dry before embossing.

Wisemen by Debi Hammons

You’ll notice this year that silhouette styles are in. They make creating a large number of cards so easy because there’s no coloring necessary. Here DT member Lynn Mercurio used the Manger Scene and Precious Bundle to create her CAS card for our challenge earlier this year.

Manger Scene by Lynn Mercurio

DT member Wendy Jordan used the Manger Scene and Precious Bundle to created this sample embossed in Aged Black on Burlap. What an interesting texture!

Manger Scene by Wendy Jordan

If you’re new to stamping, or just want something simple, we created this sample for a demonstration at Michael’s Stores. It features our Traveling Far stamp and Blue Magic embossing powder.

Traveling Far by Laura Weed

Design Team Member Wendy Price created this beautiful take on the gifts the Wisemen brought the baby Jesus. Wendy embossed our Dream Text with VersaMark ink and Clear Embossing Powder on her paper. then she stamped our fantastic Three Gifts stamp over the top. The embossing powder resists the new ink, when you wipe it with a tissue the words show through in the paper color. Simple but fantastic.

Bottled Dreams by Wendy Price

Hopefully, this gives you some great ideas for using Stampendous products to create your cards celebrating Jesus’ birth. Here’s a link to all the Inspirational themed stamps on our website where you can find many more stamps which will work well for Christmas and year-round cards. Please let us know if we can help you find something specific by emailing us at stamp@stampendous.com.

Fluffles Feast by Debi Hammons

Debi used CRV224 Cling Fluffles Feast, SSC1023 Damask Fall Perfectly Clear Stamps, AC672HSG Gold Dot Sparklers Class A’Peel Stickers, colored pencils and an Onyx Black VersaFine stamp pad to make this super simple greeting.

Along the same lines, here’s a Clean and Simple Christmas card by Debi.

Our Design Team, as always, joins in with Wendy Jordan’s fantastic, simple, Nativity card:

Blessed Greetings by Wendy Jordan

Wendy used the CRG119 Cling Christmas Greetings together with CRP137 Cling Manger Scene and embossed it all with Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

Fluffles Garland by Melinda Gleissner

Here Melinda Gleissner uses CRN221 Cling Fluffles Garland with a Tuxedo Black Memento Pad by Tsukineko, her Copic Markers, and some simple die cutting to create a really CAS Christmas greeting.

Jumbo Cling Pine Drift by Taylor Usry

Finally, Taylor Usry brings us this simple yet gorgeous card using CRS5016 Cling Jumbo Pine Drift plus AC672HSR Red Dot Sparklers Class A’Peel Stickers and AC723MRR Holiday Greetings Class A’Peel Stickers. So simple and fantastic!
