Tropical Punch with Dazzle It

banner-tropicalpunch01

In keeping with the theme this week of Flowers and Fairies, we have a bonus post for you.

Our good friends at Dazzle It sent me a wonderful set of products from their new Tropical Punch line. Reminiscent of Brazilian Carnivale and all the bright, gorgeous colors of the tropics, this line is intended for making gorgeous, custom jewelry. Especially those popular statement necklaces we’re seeing on all the celebrities.

But, of course, I had to participate by getting some Stampendous/Dreamweaver products in there. So I made a little something different.

My selection, sent by John Bead Corporation, Canadian Distributors of all things jewelry and amazingness, came in this fantastic little muslin, drawstring bag.  I thought this would make a really neat purse for summer visits to theme parks and the beach, so I dolled it up with some Tropical Punch Flair.

This cute little muslin tote is about 8″ square. Perfect for cell, cards, cash, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.

It came with this gorgeous assortment of Tropical Punch jewelry makings.

I started by using the Gold Dreamweaver Memories Mist on the Cathedral Windows Stencil.

I moved the stencil around, occasionally turning it over and pressing the ink on to the cloth to get an all over pattern.

I love how glittery and beautiful this mist is..yummm.

For some tropical punch (hee hee) I grabbed the Dreamweaver Corner Flowers Stencil and the Blue Martini Memories Mist.

I loved the flowers in the Martini Blue! But I wanted them to go higher.

I turned the stencil over and masked off the edges with my paper towels to get a gorgeous fall of flowers up the side of the bag.

While that dried, I started my Tropical Punch Flowers. I received three of these flower centers with rhinestones in them. They have a central post to build your flower around plus two eyes for wiring them to nearby flowers, inserting jumprings, etc.

The flower petals are just gorgeous. They come in packs of 10, so I used 5 per flower to make two. You could use six for a fuller look. Thread your wire/elastic cord/etc. through the flower petals.

And tie the wire around the center post. I used my pliers to pull it really tight.

OHMIGOSH... now you want some, don't you??!!

I had enough to make two, and I'm in love with them.

So the bag had really short ties to pull it shut, and I’m more of a shoulder strap gal. But I received this interesting polyester tubing in my box.

It comes in heaps of colors (mine was pink and blue) and it is meant to be the basis for necklaces bracelets, etc.

You cut it up and use it in pieces as a tube, or as a fundamental piece with various ends and caps available.

There are also these cool sliders that can go on the outside of it for a jump ring to attach something wonderful.

Well, I threaded my polyester tubing through the casing in the top of the purse. I didn’t receive any end caps, so I pushed the cable ends through two of these sliders.

I overlapped the tubing and put a slider on each end.

Then I used my pliers to smash it like a crimp bead.

This gave me a place to hang the two filagree pieces I received after dangling some of my bling off them. Wow… a super cute shoulder strap!!

Finally, I just sewed on my gorgeous flowers and a bunch of the other beads and lucite flowers that I received. I totally love this darling bag!! If you love this look, head over to the Dazzle It Blog to see what lots of other designers did with their Tropical Punch products!

Fran’s CHA Demos straight to you!

CHA Show Banner

CHA is a crazy time. There’s so much going on, and dozens of industry contacts must be made in just a few days in order to bring you the great product collaborations we bring you here at Stampendous. In the frenzy we didn’t tape Fran’s booth demos at CHA because she was always surrounded by eager customers, and we knew we could recreate them when we got home. But we didn’t want you to miss them!!

First, Fran did a quick make and take for the customers who were excited about her new PopUp Card Die Set. Folks had so much fun choosing from the gorgeous, huge tray of flowers and vases we prepared from our new Build A Bouquet stamp and die sets. Yummy!!!

Fran’s Pop Up Die Set Demonstration

Fran also got folks playing with making some cool jewelry. We co-sponsored a workshop at CHA with the folks from ICE Resin and Imagine Crafts. What a fun time! Wish you could have been there. We do have a quick overview for you though, so you can see the fun creations Fran has been making with the Radiant Neon Inks, our Eclectic Charms Perfectly Clear Stamps Set, and bezels and resin from ICE Resin.

Fran’s Jewelry Class with ICE Resin and Imagine Crafts

We hope you enjoy both of these demos! Our new January products offer so many fun options for crafting, we can’t wait to see what you make! Be sure to visit our website at www.stampendous.com on January 23 when these items are available for retail sale. Many of them are available at your local stamping and scrapbook store now! You can find a store near you using our Store Locator.

We’re still at the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show. The Wifi here is TERRIBLE, but we’re sending all the peeks we can when we get to the rare hotspots around the show area.  Thanks for your patience.

Our booth demonstrations have been going really well. We’re processing the videos from them as fast as we can. Hope you had a chance to see Debbie Cole’s brilliant new jewelry creations, but, in case you missed it, here’s a peek!

Layered Bezels and Pendants

We just love this idea! We have had lots of generous companies donate bezels for our jewelry creations featuring stamps and resin, but the ability to make our own bezels using our Pop-Up Die Set is just sooooo thrilling. And when you combine the gorgeous painting talent of Debbie Cole, well, you just get some stunning results. Here’s a closer look! (you can click on it to make it larger!)

Dreaming of Fluttering Designs

Butterflies have such a wonderful pattern of fluttering around, just thinking about it will lift your spirits. If only they would sit still long enough to enjoy their beautiful design. So here are two more projects from the Stampendous team.

Fran perfectly designed this card with the fluttering of wings from PenPattern Butterflies Set and an amazing Creative Palette monoprint.

We love the pendant Wendy Price created back in October with the Butterflies Die set and HHH Enterprises jewelry finding. We’ve linked her blog post to the photo below if you want to go check it out. It’s truly gorgeous!
