Happy Halloween!

Stampendous Blog Star Melinda Gleissner came up with this deliciously Tricky Treat.

Here’s what Melinda has to say.

“While shopping at Michaels the other day, I came across these cute unfinished wood coffins (if a coffin can be cute) and decided to grab some to use as candy holders for my son’s school Halloween party. They are the perfect size to hold a few pieces of candy and a free Frosty coupon. After painting them in both Espresso and Eggplant Adirondack acrylic paint, I stamped the Stampendous Frightful Phrases stamp in Versamark ink and embossed using my favorite Stampendous Midnight Black embossing powder. I have never stamped and embossed on wood before so I’m pretty pleased how the candy boxes turned out.”

“To go along with the boxes I made a clean and simple mini card using two Stampendous sets: Costume Kids and Cling Spider Web.”

Thanks for visiting!

– Melinda

Saturday Sketch Challenge

This week’s challenge is brought to you by the Scrappy Chick, Cyndi B. She came up the the delicious idea to do a “recipe” sketch. And that isn’t what you’d think it would be. You’re not expected to make recipe cards. A recipe sketch challenge is where we give you a list of things you need to include in your card or scrapbook page. For this challenge, we’d like you to use:

  • the color black
  • some glitter (or bling)
  • ribbon

Pretty simple, right? It doesn’t have to be Halloween theme. The Design Team members just made their samples Halloween themed because we’re in the beginning of the spooky season right now.

Here’s the example Cyndi came up with. She used:

Cyndi also made this darling door hanger for a different sketch challenge she’s going to have on her blog later, but it happens to fit for our challenge, too! Cyndi used these products in her hanger:

Wendy made a door hanger, too (they make awesome one-of-a-kind Halloween decorations!). Here’s her list of Stampendous products used:

Jen created this crafty card with these supplies:

And the winners from last week’s sweet and simple challenge are:

Michelle! This fun and playful everyday card is absolutely adorable! She stamped the images with the Flower Chat Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. We love the cheery color palette and embellishments!

Also, congratulations to Carol! She stamped this stylish card that would surely bring a smile to anyone’s face. She used our NEW Thinking Bouquet Perfectly Clear Stamps Set, which you can find at your local store supplying Stampendous stamps. It will be available on our website soon!
