Homemade Gifts Are Best

The holiday season is approaching, and it’s time to give some thought to gifts you might make for friends and loved ones. Of course nothing says, “I love you” like a handmade gift.

With stamps and stencils, you have soooo many options. And our new Decor Cling Rubber Stamps make a super easy way to transfer a pattern to a home decor piece. They are big, at 8″ X 8″ they can help you get a job done quickly, or even work on a very small card or tag, or stamp a few at one time.

Here’s a look at the Decor Snowflakes stamp. There are four other designs available.

Our Dreamweaver and Fran’s Metal Stencils are also a phenomenal way to create homemade gifts from the heart.  Like this gorgeous canvas from Mixed Media Artist Mark Gould.

Stack Art Challenge – The Finale

Wow, what a week! Hope you’ve been hopping around all the blogs leaving comments so you can maybe win some Stack Art! The prize consists of one Stack Art Kraftboard Kit, one Stack Art Stamp Set and one Stack Art Elements kit. We’ll give three of these prize packages to commenters this week on the participating blogs!

Designers have done so many fantastic things with our Stack Art kraftboard pieces. It’s so fun to see all the possibilities.

Here, Stampendous owner Fran Seiford, has created a tribute to all four seasons using the Stack Art Regal Bird Kit and the Tree Poem Stamp. Punching holes and wiring the kraftboard pieces together, this simple but dynamic piece was easy to assemble.

In a similar project, Fran used our Floral Lady to create a lovely Spring themed Triptych. Assembled with large jump rings fashioned of wired.

Finally a little Snow Fun is just as easy to make. Here brads are placed through the holes and then wired together in the back. This features our Bird Knit Hat, Sweet Snowgirl, and Winter Wonderland stamps.

Our project today comes from Design Team Member Suzanne Czosek. Each catalog time Suzanne creates some amazing thing that becomes the most talked about sample of the book. This July was no exception. A charming desk calendar is always a good gift, but one made from the heart, by hand, is the best kind. Suzanne’s calendar has already sparked a few classes among our store owners, and we sure hope folks will enjoy receiving them this year. We’ll be featuring this project on our blog all week to kick of our Handmade Gifts Challenge this month.

Our project today comes from our freelance designer, Debbie Cole. Debbie is a fantastically talented decorative painter, and she’s absolutely loving how easy this kind of painting becomes when you use rubber stamps as your pattern instead of tracing! She used our Jumbo Top Hat Snowman for one side of this adorable candle holder… she’ll post the other side on her blog later in the week. By the way, if you are a decorative painter, or would love to learn this beautiful skill, definitely follow Debbie’s blog. She’s amazing!

Our project today comes from our in-house designer, Debi Hammons. She made this darling baby bib to celebrate Winter with someone young. What a treat this easy project would be combined with some cute dishes or a terrific stock of premium baby foods. Or a set of bibs for each season would be a delightful holiday gift.

Jumbo Penguin Bib by Debi Hammons for Stampendous

Debi made this bib using Stampendous Jumbo Penguin Snow Stamp set with Free Template and acrylic paints. Acrylic paints are super for fabric stamping. You can heat set them when finished with an iron by putting a paper over the top (to keep your iron clean), and they’ll last through washing after washing. They’ll get softer as used, but there are fabric mediums you can mix with the paint to make them softer right from the start.
