Elements of Excitement – and A Winner!

Pinecone Ornament by Kristine Reynolds

The time for Holiday stamping is here! And this year, why not add some Elements of Excitement to your Christmas and holiday creations? Our July Catalog featured a really nice, two-page spread showcasing the Embossing Powders and Glitters that are just so perfect for seasonal glimmer and warmth.

You can see the whole catalog here – JULY 2017 Stampendous Catalog  or for a look at our Elements suggestions, we’ve made a quick PDF you can download here: Elements of Excitement

These sparkly and super dynamic elements are perfect for Fran’s Encrusted Adhesive Technique and Glitzy Adhesive Technique. Both of these techniques allow you to make dynamic cards with a ton of bling and excitement! A perfect example is this great card by Design Team Member Kristine Reynolds. You can click on it to see the project instructions and supplies.

Mixed Media – Mixing and Mingling

We had a blast at the CREATE Mixed Media Retreat in Irvine last week! It was exhausting, but so fun and really exciting to see how well our Stampendous products work into the mixed media art world! A couple of my projects aren’t quite finished yet, and I promise to share them when they are, but Fran took a few classes, too, and finished her projects!

Fran took a class with mixed media artist Laurie Mika, and they made some amazing creations. You can read about Laurie’s class and her art on her blog MikaArts. You can see Fran on that post about half way down (just above the photo of the samples of the 3D ATC’s)!! Here’s what Fran created in Laurie’s class:

2 clay fran

See the Crushed Glass Glitter? You probably recognize our Dream Text Background Stamp and our fantastic Cling Jumbo Romantic Border behind the angel head! Here’s what Fran had to say about Laurie’s class:

I was delighted with the beautiful style of Laurie Mika’s work!  I loved her approach to any clay colors, finger-painted surfaces, easy foil accents, and of course using stamps to create these miniature works of art.  I have never been so inspired by clay of any kind.  I could hardly sleep that night.  I caught a glimpse of Laurie’s on-going passion to work in clay.  I took the 3 hour ATC evening class.  It was so fun from start to finish! Seeing everyone’s work at the end was fantastic.  When Laurie suggested we all trade now, our eyes got big and we clutched our precious ATCs.  The theory of trading sounds better than actually parting with any of our still warm artistic creations.”

We’ll look at more of the projects from CREATE in the coming weeks. There’s so much to absorb and take in.. you’ll be amazed!

Sticker Background Technique Giveaway!

We’ve been having so much fun collaborating with our good friends at Creative Impressions.  These wholesalers of ribbon, hardware and stamping embellishments have just the products we need to coordinate with our fabulous stamps, stickers and accessories. Plus, they’re incredibly generous folks!

We’ve also been loving our sticker background technique for glitter and flocking, and we’ve been using everything lying around the stamp room for variations on this look. The other day we grabbed some of the DARLING felt shapes that Creative Impressions sent us and went to town making glittery samples. You’re going to love what we came up with! PLUS… Now you can win some of it! We’ve put together 4 prize packages consisting of Stampendous Glitzy Glitter, Creative Impressions Felt Shapes, and Thermo Web Peel N Stick Adhesive so you can create some amazing creations like these. We’ve also linked this post to our Sticker Background Technique with Glitter Video so you can refresh your memory about this great technique.
