Counting our Blessings – A Season of Thanks

 

We’re back again, after the spooking has faded a bit, our trick-or-treaters have hung up their costumes for another year, and all the good ghouls and boys are home eating their candy. It’s time again to count our blessings and be grateful for all we have in our lives. Our Design Team is celebrating this Season of Thanks with some great projects this week to inspire you for Thanksgiving.

A Season of Thanks!

While things are still spooking away over on our 31 Days of Halloween page, we are ready to give thanks this month for all the wonderful blessings in our lives. American Thanksgiving is such an awesome holiday, because it’s so important to live with an “attitude of gratitude” and appreciate all the wonderful things we have every day. We like to focus on our blessings, here at Stampendous, and we know you do, too!

A Really Mice Fall Week

Tobi Crawford – Gelatos for Fall

Hi there! It’s Tobi here with some gorgeous Stampendous! fall inspiration. I decided to pull out my watercolor mediums in “turned leaves” colors and play with my Cling Leaf Background stamp.

Next, I used the dark brown crayons to outline the big leaves and the reds/oranges to color in the center of the leaves.. This is not an exact science since you can move the colors around with water, so I just wanted to get some colors down.

I used a combination of baby wipes and a wide waterpen to move the colors around. The baby wipe made all of the colours run together, so I added some more highlights/shadow and moved to the waterpen.

Kinda messy, but this is what it looked like after all the colours were blended:

After the paper dried completely I distressed the edges and even gave some of the top a light sanding. I was going for the rustic look!

And here’s the final product:

This friendship sentiment (Cling Kind Friendship) is the perfect final touch for this beautiful autumn card.

Autumn Leaves are Falling

We’re still celebrating Fall here at Stampendous and still hoping it’s going to cool down! No signs of that yet. So we’re consoling ourselves this month with thoughts of crisp Autumn breezes and festively crunching, colorful leaves underfoot. Of course in Southern California we don’t really get either of those things. But we can dream! This terrific card by Suzanne Czosek gets us dreaming of Fall!! It features our Leaf Background and Kind Friendship sentiment stamps.

We sure hope you’re thinking Fall Fun and planning to enter our September Challenge! We’d really like to see a lot more entries on our Challenge page. If you are able to share it with your friends, or know of a somewhere we should be sharing it, please feel free to contact us!  Our challenge embraces anything you love about Fall. Back to School, Falling Leaves, Thanksgiving, Harvest..perhaps even the airing of the Winter wardrobe. Next month will be Halloween, but if you’re getting a head start, even that is fine!
