New Products Now Available on our Website

We’ve had so much fun this week showing you some of our new products.

They are all now available on our website in addition to your local scrapbooking and stamping stores and favorite online stamping retailers.

We know you’re going to love creating with these new images as much as our Design Team has.

Several of our team members have created fun projects to inspire you for today. Be sure to join us tomorrow as well when everyone will return with additional fantastic projects to get you excited about our newest offerings!

One group of images in our new selection has us particularly excited. Big, beautiful florals are here, just in time for Spring stamping. We’ve always said that when you combine some great flowers and just the right greeting you can have a card for any occasion. We think this catalog has both. These Stampendous flowers have been designed to make a dramatic statement on your card front, giving you lots to color if you love coloring, and some terrific options for paper piecing, embossing, Encrusted Jewel Technique, etc.,  if you want to try something new. Two new Perfectly Clear Stamp greeting sets give you the choice of dozens of card greeting options. Be sure to collect some of these beauties for your stamping garden! (we especially love the way Pam and Suzanne brought the Halloween Background stamps forward to make amazingly gorgeous backgrounds for these flowers!)

Still More New Images from Stampendous!

We are really enjoying the opportunity this week of bringing you some of our newest images and projects from our amazing team of Designers. Our October Catalog for Spring is one of our most exciting ever, we just loved every single one of them. But our favorites always seem to be our new Cling Jumbo Images. We just can’t get enough of these terrific, extra large images that just leap off the page and make Home Decor, Scrapbooks and Cards so dramatic and exciting.

One of our newest BlogStars, Yana Smakula, brings us a post today all the way from the Ukraine. She’s been playing with one of our newest Jumbo Sets, Cling Jumbo Butterfly Trio. We know these butterflies will be a must-have for your collection. Just look what Yana has done with them. Then visit the blogs of the other Design Team Members playing today. Maybe some butterflies will flutter your way! (but only if you have a U.S. Mailing Address)

Hi everyone! BlogStar Yana Smakula here and today I have a simple card using a stunning butterfly from CRS5044 Jumbo Butterfly Trio stamp set.
To create a card I stamped a butterfly from CRS5044 Jumbo Butterfly Trio stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock:
I then coloured the stamped image with Copic markers and cut it out leaving a small white border around the image:
I created a front card panel 3 3/4 by 5 1/4 inches and attached butterfly with a flower brad, slightly curled the wings to give it more dimension:
Finally I created a white card base 4 by 5 1/2 inches and adhered the front panel to the card base:
Supplies used:
  • Stamps: CRS5044 Cling Jumbo Butterfly Trio stamp set
  • Cardstock: Dovecraft
  • Pattern Paper: Pebbles
  • Brad: Pebbles
  • Gems: Dovecraft
  • Adhesive: Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives.

(Stampendous NOTE: We’re amazed Yana got this look with VersaFine and Copics. That usually doesn’t work very well for us. We’d recommend Memento ink for use with your Copic markers)

NOW – Flutter by for a look at what some other team members are doing! You’ll love what they’ve got to show you!

Washi Tape Tutorial by April Derrick

“Because of You” Scrapbook Layout by April Derrick

This is certainly a peaceful page with a great Washi Tape Technique (say that real fast 5 times), a little watercoloring and a great photo. April’s going to show us how she did it! keep reading….

First, your suppy list:

From Stampendous: Cling Jumbo Romantic Border & Elegant Borders Perfectly Clear Stamps Set and Cling Jumbo Iris.
Artist Tape, Journaling Pen, Watercolor Pencils, & Watercolor Markers: STAEDTLER, Black Ink: Tsukineko Versafine, White Cardstock: Bazzill, Chipboard Stars: Basically Bare, Metal Clip: Tim Holtz, Liquitex Titanium White Ink.

Washi Tape, Step One

1. Tear off several strips of STAEDTLER Artist tape and stick them down on a non-stick craft sheet.

Washi Tape Step Two

2. Color the tape strips with watercolor markers.
3. Heat them with a heat gun to dry completely.

Stamp Border Designs on Tape.

4. Apply ink to Border stamps, and stamp images directly on top of colored tape.

5. After the ink dries, you can leave as is, or spritz on some glimmer mist to add a little sparkle.
6. Simply peel the tape strips off of the non-stick craft mat and apply to a sheet of card stock.

* Technique Tip: For my project, after I stuck my tape strips on my card stock, I gently brushed over them with a wet paintbrush to release some of the watercolors and draw them down the page for a cool blending effect!

Thanks April! Everyone will enjoy making tape borders for scrapbook pages and projects. This is a very cool technique!
