Now that we are in full stride on our hop with Nathalie and Friends, it is time to bring in our Dreamweaver Thursday focus with stencils and since we are hopping with product sets that include stencils we are in double stencil mania.
Each of the three Foam and Cling Rubber Stamp sets by Nathalie Kalbach include a quality plastic stencil that add depth and dimension to a project. Let’s have a close up look at each stencil from these projects.
The stencil included in the Bird set is more like our templates as it has removable pieces used for masks. The intricate designs of the stencils in the Elephant and Urban Scribbles have great textural depth for layering. Each stencil design add complementary details to the stamps as well which gives us room to bring out Dreamweaver Stencils to fill in the gaps.
Here is a fun example of bringing our Dreamweaver Stencils into mixed media with a journal page by Nathalie Kalbach.
A tip using your metal stencils with sticky mediums is to always keep the stencil flat on a surface while peeling away the paper substrate, that way the metal stencil is not damaged or warped and ready for the next project.
A little blog hop reminder, there are THREE prize packages available to commenters for this hop that include ALL three of Nathalie Kalbach’s Foam Stamp, Cling Stamp and Stencil Sets. Be sure to stop and comment on our blog that of the blogs on the hop list and tell us where you are from in your comment. This is open everyone domestic and international! Deadline to comment is Sunday, May 1st at 11:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time (Monday, May 2nd 6:59 AM UTC).
Before we get to our hop list, take a peek at the gorgeous dimension the stencil from Urban Scribbles makes in this project close up by Gwen Lafleur.
That’s it for our fabulous stencil focus today and now it’s time to hop on over to these participating designers, plus drop by Nathalie’s blog and see what she’s posted today!
The week went by fast while our design team was having fun sharing some of their favorite techniques from the Embossing Powder Techniques from A to Z book. This book is a great tool to have by your side when you want something new to do with those embossing powders in your stash or for a refresher in the basics of embossing.
Another great tool and one essential to embossing with powders is a heat tool. We now carry the HT400 Embossing Heat Tool that is durable and built to last for all those embossing projects ahead.
We’ve enjoyed bringing you a full week of more techniques from the book and there are still more to see today!
