We just got back from Winter CHA, one of the most exciting craft trade shows bringing together hundreds of paper craft and hobby companies! CHA is the place to see the coolest trends, learn the hottest techniques and the newest products! We couldn’t have had more fun meeting and mingling with other devoted crafters. And we bumped into tons of Stampendous enthusiasts!
Here’s a great recap video of what we were doing at our booth. And you’ll meet some of the friendly faces behind Stampendous, too!
We also got to share our brand new Painting with Powder Technique, demonstrated by Fran herself! Check out our three video series on Fran’s Painting with Powder Technique and make mini scenic masterpieces!
Cut a piece of Therm O Web doubled sided adhesive sheet to the size you want. Peel off the backing and apply it to the black card base.
Then peel two damask stickers off and apply Plain Ol’ Black Fun Flock to the sticky side and rub the flock in.
Peeling the top double sided adhesive sheet backing off of the card base, gently place the damask stickers where you want. You can finagle the stickers a bit on the adhesive sheet, but not much, so commit carefully.
Here is the fun part, dump a ton of white Fun Flock all over the adhesive sheet and damask stickers. Rub it in a circular motion until the background becomes mostly white. Tap off the excess and with a paint brush, sweep away the white Fun Flock from the damask stickers.
Add an orange ribbon and distress the edges of the black card base with a tool and added white ink.
Cut out a small tag, hole-punch it, stamp a cute Halloween sentiment on it and tie it to the orange ribbon with a bit of string.
Feel free to add Dot Sparklers to the card to give it more color!
And check out our video with Fran Seiford demonstrating how to do the Sticker Background Technique!
Be sure to check out our Paper Craft Planet Back to Basics Tutorial next Wednesday, October 14th when Lesson 7 will feature more great ideas for using this technique. If you haven’t joined in on these lessons yet, it’s not too late. Fabulous prizes are offered for participants each week, and you can still join and watch all the lessons from the beginning. Our last card is by Terri D. You can find her cards on her website http://simplypaperandstamps.blogspot.com/. This stamp is normally used for wedding cards, but in this case Terri repurposed it for her Halloween cards. To create this card, you can place a piece of scotch tape over the sentiment on the rubber stamp which says “Wedding Belle Shoes”. Next, ink the stamp and then remove the tape. When you stamp the image, only the shoe, or the areas which are inked, will show up on your paper.

We hope you had a chance to watch Tuesday’s Shape Shifting Funny Bunny Videos. We’ve included three more videos featuring Funny Bunny here. In these videos he gets quite wild, donning a hula skirt, masquerading as a shark, he’s quite the versatile guy!
Did you notice that these videos have the You Tube logo in the corner? We’ve posted 19 videos on You Tube to acquaint you with various products and techniques that we just love. Be sure to visit www.YouTube.com and subscribe to our video series at http://www.youtube.com/user/Stampendous. That way, every time you visit You Tube they will let you know if we’ve posted anything new.
Why are we making these videos? While we know that many of you are expert stampers with lots of experience, we found out at a recent trade show that there are a lot of misconceptions out there! One stamper told us she thought that clear stamps were disposable! Several told us that they only used woodmounted rubber because clear stamps didn’t work as well. Well, we realized there was a lot of information that we could give folks that would really improve their stamping experiences! We started out to show you that, with the proper ink and techniques, our clear stamps can be just as much fun as their woodmounted cousins, if not more so.
When we started making videos, though, we discovered tons of good ideas that even we had missed. We found ourselves laughing out loud at the various antics of our darling robots, and the dancing Funny Bunny paper dolls will leave you weeping! We’re having way too much fun making videos to stop now, so be sure to check frequently on You Tube for our latest adventures and ideas for you. Some fabulous techniques and ideas for using colored pencils were posted just this week. See you in the movies!
Funny Bunny is here and he’s “Shape Shiftable”! You’ll love our versatile and fun Stampendous Shape Shifting™ stamps that allow you to change their shapes for an endless variety of characters! You won’t believe how many possibilities there are with our Funny Bunny. Watch Stampendous owner and Funny Bunny’s creator, Fran Seiford, as she creates a huge variety of projects using this darling rabbit. Bunnies aren’t just for Easter any more!
