Nathalie’s line of stamps and stencils work fabulously for so many different styles, seasons and projects it is no wonder that we enjoy the Squad’s projects with renewed inspiration every month! It’s Friday and our relaxed week of mixed media is almost over, but we have one more bit of goodies to share. The terrific mixed media artist and designer, Andy Skinner, is the spotlight of our post today and there is a chance to see him create with his trademark techniques using his line of stamps and stencils with DecoArt Media products. It’s amazing what you can do with this product combination when you have a few techniques up your sleeve.
His style is a solid industrial style with even shabby chic mixed in on a few projects. No matter the style it’s in the techniques you use with your supplies and we have a way for you to see Andy in demo them in action, but only for a short time.
Even though we are in the States we followed along Hochanda TV, a UK Television home shopping channel, during Andy Skinner’s shows on Tuesday here and Wednesday here, here, here and here. These links won’t be available for long so stop by soon to see all the techniques that continue to make Andy’s mixed media pieces amazing, awesome, and SO cool!
All these fantastic projects were made with Andy Skinner stamps which are daring and iconic, just perfect for any mixed media or stamping project. You can see Andy using them our videos from our booth during CHA the last few years. Stop by our Youtube Channel anytime to see them!
It’s the end of the month and a great time to revisit the Creative Squad projects Nathalie’s Studio Blog. The Creative Squad was given the challenge to create something that celebrates the spirit of adventure and it was fun to see where their creative spirit took them for each project. Lindsay incorporated all the tools in this set and it created quite a awesome masculine style scene card. There are just so many possibilities in one set, we know there will be endless creativity with Urban Scribbles.

Enjoy our big finale hop and we are especially excited to have Nathalie Kalbach and the Creative Squad hopping along with us today!
Now that we are in full stride on our hop with Nathalie and Friends, it is time to bring in our Dreamweaver Thursday focus with stencils and since we are hopping with product sets that include stencils we are in double stencil mania.
Each of the three Foam and Cling Rubber Stamp sets by Nathalie Kalbach include a quality plastic stencil that add depth and dimension to a project. Let’s have a close up look at each stencil from these projects.
The stencil included in the Bird set is more like our templates as it has removable pieces used for masks. The intricate designs of the stencils in the Elephant and Urban Scribbles have great textural depth for layering. Each stencil design add complementary details to the stamps as well which gives us room to bring out Dreamweaver Stencils to fill in the gaps.
Here is a fun example of bringing our Dreamweaver Stencils into mixed media with a journal page by Nathalie Kalbach.
A tip using your metal stencils with sticky mediums is to always keep the stencil flat on a surface while peeling away the paper substrate, that way the metal stencil is not damaged or warped and ready for the next project.
