We’re playing with Andy Skinner and DecoArt this week! Did you know that Andy Skinner has started a Facebook Group? “Groups” on Facebook are a great way to communicate directly with artists and companies as well as share your projects you make with their products. On a “Page” you can see what the company is sharing and what their focus is for that day. But in a group you can share with other fans and the focus is on you and your interaction with the company or artist. If you’re a Facebook Member you may want to check out these groups and pages, be sure to click on the links when you’re logged in to Facebook:
Also remember, in a group you have to wait to be admitted. So be patient, that can take a day or so for the administrator to add you, especially if you’re in another time zone!
Meanwhile – whether or not you’re on Facebook, you’ll want to visit these designer blogs today because you could win a wonderful set of Andy Skinner’s stamp sets designed for Stampendous PLUS a Fluid Media Starter Kit from DecoArt! Each comment on a participating blog is an entry for one of three prize packages!
We love what the design team has created this week sharing tutorials using stencils with watercolor to embossing pastes or applying the letterpress technique for dry embossing. It’s amazing what you can do with these metal stencils with the right care and a few tools. Earlier this week we talked mentioned properly removing the stencil from it’s packaging and easy cleaning after use, today it’s the tools that help make stenciling fun!
We have seven high quality embossing pastes to choose from on our website. Add almost any color medium to the white or clear pastes for even more options.
Use the Palette Knife to mix in coloring mediums, spread paste over smaller stencils or load the Paste Spreader to apply paste evenly across the larger stencils.
All that’s left is choosing stencils! You can purchase stencils from the Dreamweaver Stencils section of the Stampendous website where we are continually adding more. During the transition you can still shop the Stencil with Style website to access the entire collection.
Need some help getting started? There are great tips and techniques on how to use these wonderful products here.
With such fun new products being talked about, it’s only right to share some fantastic projects from these designers today!
Today is a double dose of inspiration with two teams posting Dreamweaver inspiration!
On Thursday’s we enjoy a weekly shower of inspiration from Dreamweaver Stencils’ Dream Team which is especially true this month’s challenge. Be inspired to design with showers themed projects from the A Team!
Stenciling can be fun when you have a system in place for each step of the process. Yesterday we mentioned how to properly remove the stencil from packaging and today it’s about cleaning the stencil. Being able to clean your stencils immediately after use helps you quickly move on to the rest of your project. Here’s some information to keep you stenciling in style.
Keep the stencil flat when cleaning.
Use a flat tray or flat bottom container like our Stufftainers with enough water to cover the stencil and tools. Set them into the water until you’re ready to clean.
Gently scrub with a soft brush while the stencil stays flat in the tray.
Place on a clean soft cloth to air dry or use a second cloth to dry while keeping it on a flat surface.
Here’s a fantastic project today from veteran stencil designer,
We’re celebrating our new acquisition of Dreamweaver Stencils again this week. There’s just so much to learn and enjoy with these new tools! So much new inspiration from new team members joining us, and so very many new products to play with and enjoy!
When you first get your Dreamweaver Stencils, it’s very important that you start taking care of them right away! Even taking them out of their packaging can be a little tricky. You want to avoid bending the stencil at all, so that you’ll have the flattest, smoothest surface to work with for all the great techniques. We’ve linked to a great video on YouTube on every one of our new stencils to remind you about opening the product carefully. Always BEND THE PAPER, NOT THE STENCIL! Take a look:
Now go have a look at the terrific inspiration we have for you today!!
This week we’re getting ready for Christmas! Actually here at Stampendous my office is already decorated for Christmas since it segues directly from Halloween. Are you getting ready to get out the holly? The friends from House-Mouse Designs® decorate early, too. They know Santa is watching, and this year they’re hoping for cheese! (maybe a nice Porter Cahill…or some Camembert…mmm)
Our team is busy with our Blog Hops, but we’ve been ready for Christmas since the July Catalog. That’s the nature of the crafts industry! So we’re sharing in the afternoons some projects they made for our catalog. If you click on the photo it will take you to the Project section of our website where you can find the supplies and instructions for each project.
A gingerbread house is such a traditional Christmas activity. Do you make one? There are so many easy kits available. Amanda and Mudpie love making these fun creations. Notice that Amanda is standing firmly atop her brother…probably to keep him from eating the decorations! (notice the differences in how these images are colored, the two MASTERS of coloring with Copic markers are showing their stuff here!)
Be sure to come back and visit us tomorrow after your Spellbinders Hopping! We’ll share more “getting ready” creations to help you be ready when Christmas comes!
For years we’ve been huge fans of Spellbinders’ Nestabilities Dies. They let us make amazing cards and projects with loads of layers without loads of work! Now we’ve entered into a year-long collaboration with them, and you’ll be seeing lots of Stampendous on their design team blog, and our design team is having a blast playing with Spellbinders products!!
We’re kicking off the collaboration with a terrific Holiday Blog Hop! For the next three days – November 18, 19, and 20th – we’ll be showcasing some fantastic projects featuring Spellbinders dies and our great stamps! And there are PRIZES!
Each day you’ll want to start at the Spellbinders’ Blog. There you’ll find a list of the participating partner companies for that day. You must visit ALL the partner blogs and those of their designers to win. So sharpen your commenting pencils! Here’s who is playing –
Spellbinders has compiled a prize package for each day of the hop consisting of three of their brand new die sets/templates plus product from the sponsoring companies! Each picture above links to that company’s blog!
But wait, there’s more! Because on our blog each of the three days we’ll be promoting the Spellbinders hop by giving away a prize package of our own. We’re pretty sure other companies are doing the same thing, so you’ll want to visit each one each day for maximum chances to win goodies!!! Of course we’d also really appreciate it if you would like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!

These beautiful collage stamps we’re featuring this week capture perfectly the Fran•táge style. Vintage, shabby chic, a bit timeworn and well-loved (or neglected), all these elements lend a charm and beauty to items and greetings. We’ve done the work for you with collages of vintage and original images combined with Fran’s flair for composition to create these gorgeous stamps. Each with a small space perfect for the greetings from our Quotes Perfectly Clear Stamps™ sets.
The design team has been sharing all week, and they’ve more to share today! Hope you’ve enjoyed the inspiration and might want to add a couple of these images to your collection!
Kristine Reynolds made this gorgeous card without a greeting! So festive and sweet with all the butterflies adding so much texture, and using the Encrusted Jewel Technique on the edges of her focal point!
Here’s some more inspiration from our terrific team!
