Even though it isn’t springtime yet, but it’s definitely after Christmas, you can still use some of those Christmas stamps. Janelle Stollfus, our Stampendous Blog Star, had this very COOL idea!
“Sometimes we just aren’t ready to put away those Christmas stamps after the holidays. The Postcard Pair is really a versatile stamp. “So what if it looks like a Christmas stamp.” I picked a spring color palette and kept my coloring light and now it will brighten anyone’s wintery day.” –Janelle

Supplies:
P131 Postcard Pair
SSC1132 Vintage Typewriter Perfectly Clear™ Stamps
DP020 Detail Clear Embossing Powder
Kraft paper scored and cut to A2 size card
White card stock
Double-sided Pattern paper
Brown ink pad
Prismacolor Markers
Ribbon
Tag punch
Thread
Water and paintbrush
“For my card, I stamped the Postcard Pair in brown and quickly covered with Detail Clear embossing powder and heat embossed. I trimmed it down around the edges because I can’t ever quite stamp straight. I pulled out my Prismacolor markers and found some of my lightest colors and just had some fun. I used a wet paintbrush that I loaded with water and some of the brown ink I pressed into the lid and splattered it around the edges of the image. I left it there a few minutes to soak in and then heat dry. I distressed the edges with my fingernail and pulled apart the layers in a few corners.”
“The ribbon is wrapped around the pattern paper and tied into a bow. Stamp the Hello sentiment from Vintage Typewriter in brown on the coordinating side of the pattern paper and punched out with a tag punch. Tie that onto the center of the ribbon bow. Now it’s time to add the image. Glue at an angle tucked underneath the ribbon bow.”
