So put on your cutoffs and your 45SPF sunblock and let’s craft!!

Kicking us off DT member Janelle Stollfus is taking Changito and Changita for a summer splash in the surf! She’s used our fantastic Golden Sand Embossing Powder to give their feet a little beach to walk on. It’s one of our absolute favorite powders!!  So do monkeys hang 20??

Now go see what some of our other design team members have created throughout the week to get your summer creativity going:

Jennifer Ingle
Taylor Usry

Beach Day by Lea Kimmel

A Day at the Beach!

Lea Kimmel combined very beachy patterned paper and our beach friend Changito with the Cling Jumbo Border from our Jumbo Tropical Garden to create this awesome platform for a bright and sunny summer day. She used our Golden Sand Embossing Powder to create a little ground for Changito to walk on as he carries his surfboard, beach towel and lotion. National Scrapbooking Month is over, but the Beach days are about to begin, so join Lea and capture your summer days and create your own memorable scrapbook pages to preserve your best sunny memories!

June Is All About Summer!

Ready for another challenge with the Stampendous team?  Throughout the month of June we are challenging ourselves (and you) to make a card, project, gift, altered item, or a bit of home decor that is related to SUMMER!  That’s right, we’re celebrating the start of summer all month long!  Take a look at what a few of our design team members have created to inspire you today:

Taylor Usry paired the Changito Surfer rubber stamp with the Changito Pool Party rubber stamp, and added a sentiment from the Perfectly Clear Happy Messages stamp set. Also a clever reminder that it’s time to break out the sunscreen!!
Wendy created a lovely floral card using the Agapanthus Perfectly Clear stamp set; what a great touch adding the White PearLustre embossing powder for the tall stems!  The large flowers are embossed with Aged Taupe embossing enamel – so much texture on this card!
Jingle whipped up a wonderful CAS card using the Mod Hatter rubber stamp (available at Michael’s).  She accented her card with a sentiment from the Happy Messages Perfectly Clear stamp set as well.
Be sure to check out what the rest of our team has created for the challenge today!

Don’t forget, we want YOU to play along with us!  Simply make a summer themed project of some sort and add the direct link for your project to our collection at the end of this post (or on the Stampendous blog) no later than Thursday, June 28 at 11:59 PM EST .  You do not have to use Stampendous products, but we sure love it when you do!  As an extra incentive for playing along, one lucky crafter (drawn at random) will receive this fabulous new Friendly Phrases Perfectly Clear stamp set:

And of course, we need a winner from our May gifts challenge.  Congratulations to Greta!  Send us an email at submissions@stampendous.com to claim your Tropical Garden stamp set!

October Card Challenge – CAS Holiday Cards

It’s the first Saturday of the month, and that means it’s time for a new challenge with the Stampendous team!  This month to kick things off on World Card Making Day, we’re looking towards the holidays AND keeping it Clean and Simple. That’s right – we’re making Clean and Simple (CAS) holiday cards!!  You’ll see a few team members showing off more than one card today; some chose to make one CAS and then take that design and “step it up”.  Others made sets of CAS holiday cards to give as gifts or use to make a dent in the Christmas (or other holiday!!) card list.

But first…the winner from September’s Sketch Challenge!! We’d love to congratulate our randomly chosen winner – ArtyCarty!!!  Congratulations! We loved your card with buttons on it, and now you’ll have a fantastic stamp set to use on your next challenge entry. Email us your mailing address and we’ll get your prize right out to you!! (email us at  submissions@stampendous.com)

October Sketch Challenge Prize

October’s challenge is to join us in making CAS holiday cards. (any holiday!) We want to help you get into the holiday spirit, so this month we are giving away a Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy set to a random winner. You don’t have to use a Stampendous image or products to play along, but we sure love it when you do!  You have until Thursday, November 3 at 11:59 PM EST to add your link to the linky tool, and we’ll draw a random winner.  You can enter as many times as you’d like. (link to the official rules at the very top of our blog – you must have a US/APO/FPO or Puerto Rico address to win, but anyone can post their projects!!)

We’ve got a few jump starts for your imagination this weekend with lots of our Design Team creating CAS cards and posting them on their blogs. Here are just a few ideas:

Manger Silhouette by Lynn Mercurio

Lynn Mercurio is starting us off this month with this simple but oh so elegant example of an inspirational Christmas Card. She’s used our CRP137 Cling Manger Scene, CRN240 Cling Precious Bundle, and our luxurious black velvet AC990VK Jumbo Damask Leaves Class A’Peel Stickers. These fantastic velvet stickers are on a vinyl base with a fantastic adhesive that makes them dishwasher and microwave safe plus weather resistant, so they’re marvelous for indoor or outdoor craft use. They lend such an elegant air to a simple card.

Eiffle Noel by Kristine Reynolds

Kristine Reynolds this month celebrates a European holiday flavor with our CRP129 Cling Eiffel Noel embossed in our fantastic Pirate Gold Embossing Powder. What a beautifully simple card that anyone would be excited to receive (especially if you tuck a couple of tickets to Paris in the envelope!). The wood mounted version of this fantastic stamp is available at your local Michael’s Store.

Christmas Greeting by Taylor Usry

Challenge organizer and DT member Taylor Usry offers this CAS card using the fantastically versatile SSC1068 Christmas Wishes Perfectly Clear Stamps greeting set. The holly accents from the set provide just enough image while the sincere greeting remains the focal point. With four large greetings in one set you could create quite a variety of looks as well.

Finally, from the home office, in-house Sample Artist Debi Hammons offers a whimsical Christmas option this year as Changito the Monkey gets himself all tangled up in the Christmas lights. I know how he feels, I seem to end up in this situation every year at some point.

Changito Tree Lights by Debi Hammons

Debi has used CRV230 Cling Changito Tree Lights and CRG121 Cling Old World Greetings for this adorable card. After stamping and coloring Changito, she’s gone back and added some FL400 Cotton Ball White Fun Flock to the fur on his hat and some of our GX220U Multi Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter to the light bulbs for a touch of texture and fun. These were applied with a glue pen. When using flocking, be sure to press it into the adhesive with your finger before brushing away the excess to achieve good coverage.

Most of our Design Team members are playing along with our challenge today! You can check out their cards at the links below! To link your CAS Stampendous card to this month’s challenge just click on the little linky tool below and it will give you a spot to put the link to your card. We can’t wait to see what Clean and Simple Holiday means to you!!

Stampendous BlogStars – Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Our next BlogStar for you to meet is Krissy Fossmeyer. Krissy is new to the Design Team game, but she’s  a big fan of Stampendous. Krissy is an Illinois stay at home mom to 5 and 6 year old boys, and she really enjoys stamping cards to send to the troops in Iraq for them to send home to their families.  She sent us an adorable St. Patrick’s Day card for her first blog post. This stamp set, SSC1048 Changito Shamrock Perfectly Clear Stamps, is no longer available directly from Stampendous, but your local stamp store may well have it in stock. You can find a local store here if you don’t have one. We’ve just updated this list and added dozens of new stores.

Changito Shamrock St Pats Day Card
Changito Shamrock by Krissy Fossmeyer
Krissy Fossmeyer

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Being a redhead, I’ve spent years listening to people tell me that St. Patrick’s Day must be MY holiday… nope… not a drop of Irish blood in me.  People are always shocked on St. Patrick’s Day to learn that I am not an Irish redhead, but a Swedish/English/German redhead… sorry to disappoint them!  So, as a kid I always kind of dreaded this holiday.  However, my husband and kids have Irish blood running through their veins, so it’s much more fun for me now.  Last year, when my oldest was in Kindergarten, we learned that leprechauns are very mischievous little blokes.  When he arrived at school that morning, the kids found that the little fellows had gotten into their classroom and wreaked all kinds of havoc!  They turned over the tables and chairs, doodled all over the whiteboard, turned over baskets of books….those little stinkers!  So, this year he’s excited to see what trouble they cause in first grade.

Anyway, I almost forgot why I was here today!  I wanted to share with you this St. Paddy’s Day card I made.  Everyone knows Changito is my little stamping buddy.  I love this little monkey!  I thought it would be fun to incorporate the Irish flag on the background of my card and highlight Changito with a scalloped circle.  I couldn’t resist using this really cute shamrock ribbon I found at JoAnn’s.  Unfortunately, this little “Changito Shamrock” stamp set has been discontinued, but I have seen it at a few stores recently, if you run out right away, maybe you can still find him!  Don’t wait one more minute!  If you can’t find Changito, get Irish Shorty by Stampendous, he would look really cute on this card, too!

OK, stamping friends, my time is up.  I hope you all have a wonderful day – watch out for those leprechauns!  Take time to get inky!

Recipe:  Stamps: Stampendous Changito Shamrock; Paper: The Paper Co, Core’dinations cardstock Orange, Bright White, Asparagus;  Ink: Tsukineko Tuxedo Black Memento, Gingerbread, Coffee Bean; Plus: Prismacolor Pencils, Goo Gone, Tortillons; Marvy Scalloped Circle Punch; CM Circle Cutting System; JoAnn’s ribbon; Misc. button

Even More Gift Ideas…

Last week many of you came up with some really creative gift ideas for the Sketch Challenge. And we also wrote a blog post featuring presents made by our design team. This week we’d like to show you a few great gifts that would be perfect for your fellow stamp loving friends or even your family, co-workers and neighbors! They don’t have to be stampers to enjoy a cuddly Fluffles the cat sweater or a cheery Changito the monkey mug! Many of our fans have asked for cool merch with their favorite Stampendous characters on them… and here they are, now available at Cafe Press!

This mug is made for the office! Don't you think?!

We admit, sometimes knit happens! And with this bag you can transport your needles and yarn to make knit happen anywhere!

A frighteningly cute onsie for your little monkey!

We don't have a clever caption for this one. We just thought it was cute!

Wouldn't you rather kiss the cook if they were wearing this snazzy apron?

And if you have any suggestions for Stampendous merchandise you’d like to see in the future, let us know in the comments below!
