To make our wonderful Klik jewelry pieces we used products by Environmental Technology, Inc. (ETI) who generously sent our team some of their wonderful Jewelry Resin. This two part resin is incredibly easy to use and creates fantastic, professional results. We love using it here on the Stampendous Design Team. This great resin is sold at Resin Obsession, but you can also find it at Michaels and other fine craft stores. You can get thousands of ideas for using resin to create your own pieces on the resincrafts blog or on the I Love Resin blog.

There are prizes! Three prize packages with Klik Snap Bezel Blanks and jewelry components, resin and Stampendous Eclectic Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. Winners will be randomly drawn from commenters on our blog and that of each designer’s blog posting this week for our hop. Winners will be announced the afternoon of May 4th.

For more chances to win fun stuff, join us next week for another Blog Hop! (I don’t know how we got three in a row either, but hey…more prizes!!) This time we’re playing with Core’dinations, and May Arts Ribbon. You know paper and ribbon get us going every time, so don’t miss a minute! (you really should just subscribe if you don’t already… it’s at the very top of the post) PLUS – remember this is the final week of May’s Fabulous Floral’s Challenge! Be sure to add your project to the linky tool in the right sidebar or on the May Challenge Page.

Oh Clay! Here we go!

Environmental Technologies (ETI) introduced their Epoxy Resin Clay for Jewelry at January’s CHA, and we couldn’t wait to have an opportunity to play with it! The two part clay is stored in separate containers, then when you mix it, it cures to form a hard, resin surface. It’s so cool how embellishments like glitter or mica pressed into the clay become permanent without glue.  The clay also sticks in the bezel without adhesive. Is it magic? We think so! Our designers have been playing with the clay this week along with ETI’s Jewelry Resin, and we’re all always learning from the Resin Crafts Blog Diva Carmi Cimicata.

Carmi used our Winter Trees Perfectly Clear Stamps (now retired) for one of her classes she taught at CHA. We were excited and impressed with how great her project turned out:

Carmi mixed a small ball of two part resin, pressed it into the bezel, then stamped the image with Jet Black StazOn™ Ink by Imagine Crafts Tsukineko®. She dusted the scene with some PearlEx on a small paint brush to add color, then she pressed some micro beads into the clay! WOW… let it cure and you’re done! It’s so super easy! We squealed with delight and said, “Let us try! Let us try!”

Here’s what our designers came up with to share today! Plus Carmi has a new post at her blog!

Mixing up our Media with Jewelry Resin and Clay!

20130528-222151.jpg

We’re so embracing the Mixed Media trend here at Stampendous – We’re even attending the CREATE Mixed Media Retreat this week in Irvine, CA! Two of the media we adore playing with are Jewelry Resin and Epoxy Clay both from Environmental Technologies (ETI). Making your own jewelry and gift items using Stampendous stamps and Essentials is so much fun!

Our designers are blogging along this week with Carmi Cimicata of the Resin Craft Blog to show you how easy and fun these terrific products can be, AND we have extra to share with some lucky winners! We’ll choose random commenters from our blog and those of our designers and pick three lucky winners to try these products! Our prize package includes BOTH the clay and resin, plus a nice assortment of bezels from Nunn Designs, and, of course, some stamps and Essentials from Stampendous!

The Memorial Day weekend made me want to play with some resin and create some patriotic themed earrings. These will be so wearable through the Fourth of July at least (with Flag Day in there as well), so I’m excited about how sparkly they are! I didn’t use any stamps, but I used some of our great Essentials including – Red Glass Glitter, Royal Blue Glass Glitter, and White Mica Fragments from the Fran•táge line of Essentials.

2013-05-25 18.54.44

I poured a little resin in each space by dripping it off the mixing stick, then I put red glass glitter in that thin layer of resin. I waited about 12 hours then poured another thin layer of resin in the molds and added royal blue glass glitter to that layer. Then, after another 24 hours and a good hard set, I poured a very thin layer of resin, added white mica fragments, then filled the cabochon molds to the top with resin. These really great cabochon molds came from Resin Obsession.

I’m pretty happy with my earrings! Can’t wait until Flag Day so I can give some to everyone!

Lots of other Design Team Members are hopping today! Visit them, leave some comments and maybe win some goodies!
