All of these six new designs are tres chic and perfectly on trend. Try them on for size! Slip into your favorite crafting boutique and grab them directly off the rack, or purchase directly from the designer at Stampendous!

Dreamweaver Thursday…FRILLED to be Playing with May Arts!

Since this is Thursday, we’re sure that you are aware that we’ve been happily hopping with May Arts Ribbon all of this week. If you’ve missed any days, head on back to the Monday, January 25th post. Of course, there are prizes involved! Just leave comments on all posts for the week for a chance to win one of the THREE prize packages. See Stampendous Official Contest Rules for details.

The best embellishments for any designer/artist are the items that are the perfect “finishing touch”. They ADD to the design without confusing the eye. Which is why we at Stampendous LOVE May Arts ribbons and trims! A card or project can be “pretty” and “nice”, but add a bit of May Arts ribbon…and suddenly you have “WOW”! Take a look at a couple examples below, envisioning what they’d be like without that added touch. Granted…we believe that everything is amazing when begun with a base of Stampendous and Dreamweaver products (what’d you expect?), but even we like a bit of bling and frill here and there!

Created by Louise Healy using the Faux Tile technique, with May Arts’ Grosgrain ribbon and cord.

Created by Pam Bray with Dreamweaver Hexagons background, and May Arts Solid color ribbon.

National Polka Dot Day

According to my email from the Disney Store, today is National Polka Dot Day! Wow… well, if you’re a huge fan of polka dots, you’re in luck, because we have a really fun option for you!

DWLX7029_Graduated_Dot_800 Stencil

Our Graduated Dot Stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils is perfect for adding polka dots to any project you’d like. This stencil is awesome because it really lends itself to all the terrific stenciling techniques, plus it makes a perfect background for any of our wonderful Stampendous Images. Let’s take a look (you can click on the pictures to be taken to the project on our website with complete supply lists and instructions) –

This darling card using House-Mouse Designs® Baby Blanket image was created by Kristine Reynolds using the Graduated Dot stencil. She pasted it with regular embossing paste then stenciled it with Paintsticks and a stencil brush. She used it in a landscape position to provide a quick and darling background.

Baby Blanket by Kristine ReynoldsIn this sweet card, Kristine used Dreamweaver Regular Paste and a Paste Spreader to create a background with the Graduated Dot Stencil that really makes the rest of the card pop! The card features our Garden Frog Stamp and our Spring Sentiments Perfectly Clear Stamps™ Set.

In this wonderful card by Lyn Bernatovich, the Graduated Dot Stencil has been dry embossed using a Big Shot die cutting machine. To do this, place the stencil, copyright side down, on the Multipurpose Platform of your Big Shot. Then spritz the back of your card with a bit of water and place it on the stencil. Next add a rubber embossing mat and two new, uncut, clear plates on top. Then run it through. The little spritz of water gives you a crisp embossed finish.

Another terrific card by Amy Hurley-Purdie shows that adding some Crystal Micro Glitter to the pasted stencil design can make a really dynamic finish when you’re using a smaller stamp on a larger card.

Finally, a quick stenciling with ink has made a terrific, simple background for this wonderful Christmas card by Tenia Nelson.

Need more ideas? Check out our website at http://www.stampendous.com and just search Gradated Dot Stencil. You’ll find a tab for product then a tab for projects that will help you find just the things you need.  Happy Polka Dot Day!!
