Stkr.it! A CHA find – Stampendous Fun!!

Walking through CHA in Chicago, I saw a quiet little booth on a corner. Stkr.it had a table full of colored stickers sporting QR codes and an extremely friendly staff full of smiles. As a huge enthusiast for QR codes, I stopped to see what they were offering.

SUPER FUN!!  Say you’re making a layout of your baby, and a cute little video, taken on your phone maybe, of your son laughing would just make the layout complete.

Enter Stkr.it!

You upload your video to their site using the code on their sticker (be sure to create an account first, we learned that the hard way), then put the sticker on your layout! (I removed the code from this one, we already used it)

Anyone with a smartphone can see your video by scanning your sticker. Or visit the website and type in your code. OH MY!! The possibilities are staggering!

Video, music, a slideshow of additional photos… just about anything can become content for your project. And your purchase of their stickers guarantees you web hosting of your content forever (on Amazon’s secure servers).

We couldn’t resist… they gave us a handful of stickers, and I mailed them to the Design Team. Plus I have plenty for prizes! Every so often we’ll post some projects using these cool stickers and give some away. You can purchase their stickers on their website, and soon they’ll be available in your local JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores.

Recently, my husband and I visited the Sprinkles Cupcake store in Beverly Hills, California. This store has a 24 hour ATM machine that dispenses cupcakes!! It’s absolutely the most fun you can ever have for $4, and the cupcakes are incredible. I had to scrapbook the experience! But the little machine sings the cutest song at you after your purchase (which I am still singing), and we had a few issues with getting it to accept our payment, very funny,  so I had to video tape it with my iPhone. Being able to add that video to my layout, it just made the whole page for me!! (my code is YVTRNBVYFW if you want to try it)

Sprinkles Cupcake ATM by Laura Weed

I used our Cling Cupcake XL stamp, Cling Icing Fluffles, and our Perfectly Clear™ Stamps Hey There, Cupcake!.

The clear stamps, embossed with our Crystal Embossing Powder, create a background just like that expensive, embossed patterned paper you can buy, but mine is exactly the colors of the Sprinkles building!

The Crystal EP ads a fantastic touch to the frosting, too.

Some of our other Designers have played with Stkr.it stickers this week as well. Please visit their blogs and make a comment. Each Designer will choose a winner from their comments, and we’ll send you some stickers plus, of course, some Stampendous goodness!!

Leave a comment below…I’ll draw a sticker winner from our blog as well!

We don’t want to skip any holidays you might make cards for, and Fluffles the Cat couldn’t be happier this year that he’s finally got a Thanksgiving feast all to himself!!

Debi used CRV224 Cling Fluffles Feast, SSC1023 Damask Fall Perfectly Clear Stamps, AC672HSG Gold Dot Sparklers Class A’Peel Stickers, colored pencils and an Onyx Black VersaFine stamp pad to make this super simple greeting.

Along the same lines, here’s a Clean and Simple Christmas card by Debi.

Our Design Team, as always, joins in with Wendy Jordan’s fantastic, simple, Nativity card:

Here Melinda Gleissner uses CRN221 Cling Fluffles Garland with a Tuxedo Black Memento Pad by Tsukineko, her Copic Markers, and some simple die cutting to create a really CAS Christmas greeting.

OSCAR WINNING Project Kicks Off National Craft Month

An Interview with Fluffles the Cat:

On The Rubber Carpet

STAMPENDOUS: Fluffles, You’ve been around a looooong time!

FLUFFLES: Me? Yeow, I have! People call and ask for me all the time. But this year, I’m going to step aside and let someone else share the limelight.

STAMPENDOUS: Tell us, who do you think deserves the limelight this year?

FLUFFLES: Well, besides me, there are so many this year who have performed so well. With our new JUMBO Cling Stamp sets, though, I think the winner is quite obvious. Let me show you a clip…

Close Up A: Floor cloth

See the Roses and Hydrangeas? Cool, Huh?

STAMPENDOUS: Wow! This is a seriously detailed project!

FLUFFLES: I know…wait till you see this clip:

Floor Cloth B

and here’s the whole picture:

Tammie Wilson’s Floor Cloth measures around 8′ x 10′ (yes, I said feet!). The piece combines these Jumbo images: CRS5006 Jumbo Cling Rose, CRS5001 Jumbo Cling Peony, CRS5002 Jumbo Cling Thinking of You, CRS5005 Jumbo Cling Hydrangea and their corresponding swirls. This is the most ambitious piece we’ve seen around here this year. Tammie painted the large canvas, and designed the whole thing using stamps, acrylic paint and her own creative shapes and curls to achieve this OSCAR winning picture of epic proportions!

STAMPENDOUS: We have to agree that this just about covers everything!

FLUFFLES: Yeah, if you want the instructions, it will be posted on tomorrow’s website as the first project of March’s National Craft Month.

STAMPENDOUS: How do you feel about this project personally, Fluffles…I mean just between you and me?

FLUFFLES: Well, cats DO love rugs, you know. This one, however, is a bit difficult for me to unravel. Tammie sealed it with Varnish. At least I have my yarn ball.

Even More Gift Ideas…

Last week many of you came up with some really creative gift ideas for the Sketch Challenge. And we also wrote a blog post featuring presents made by our design team. This week we’d like to show you a few great gifts that would be perfect for your fellow stamp loving friends or even your family, co-workers and neighbors! They don’t have to be stampers to enjoy a cuddly Fluffles the cat sweater or a cheery Changito the monkey mug! Many of our fans have asked for cool merch with their favorite Stampendous characters on them… and here they are, now available at Cafe Press!

This mug is made for the office! Don't you think?!

We admit, sometimes knit happens! And with this bag you can transport your needles and yarn to make knit happen anywhere!

A frighteningly cute onsie for your little monkey!

We don't have a clever caption for this one. We just thought it was cute!

Wouldn't you rather kiss the cook if they were wearing this snazzy apron?

And if you have any suggestions for Stampendous merchandise you’d like to see in the future, let us know in the comments below!

Saturday Sketch Challenge

It’s the most wonderful time of the week… Stampendous Saturday Sketch Challenge day! Our challenge this week is using Class A’ Peel stickers. And for an added bonus, if you use the Sticker Background Technique and you win the contest, we will give you two prizes!! Here are a few of the projects our design team made with Class A’Peels:

Cyndi made this spooky scrapbook page with these Stampendous products: AC1004 Jumbo Bats Class A’Peel Stickers, 355U Tigerlily Ultra Fine Pearl Glitter, 269U Moss Green Ultra Fine Jewel Glitter and 363U Lavender Ultra Fine Pearl Glitter.

Pam made this detailed little number. For the tiles, she used the Stampendous Sticker Background Technique. She placed Therm o Web Peel n Stick on two squares of cardstock. She cut the same size square of the Leafy Swirls Class A’Peel’s while still on the carrier. Pam sponged some ink over the surface to tone down a bit of the shine, removed the positive image of the sticker and placed on one of the Peel n Stick squares and filled the blank sticky spaces in with flock. Then she used the reverse image left on the carrier, applied it using the tape technique* to the opposite Peel n Stick square, and filled in the empty sticky spaces with Emerald Jewel Glitter. Then she cut each square into four tiles and mounted two of each on metallic gold panels for two cards. She added the sentiment from the Star Greetings Class A’Peels set at the bottom of the gold panels along with a few stars from that same set of stickers. For a few of these stickers she covered the sticky back in flock or glitter and adhered them to the card with double-sided foam adhesive. she used strips of tacky tape across the card front and covered in glitter and Envious Green Fun Flock as well.

Wendy made this pretty little lilac card. She had just finished creating a sample using the Jumbo Damask Leaf Class A’Peels when she was looking at the center scraps left over and couldn’t bare to just throw them away. She thought they would make great flower stems. The leaves came from the scrap centers of the Scrollwork Border Class A’Peels. And she added a few Dot Sparklers in Violet Holograph for flowers.

And the moment you’ve all been waiting for… last week’s challenge winners are…

Krissy! Everyone loved this cheery snowman card! We love how she layered the snowbanks and separated them by putting glitter on the top outline of each hill. Very fun! In her card she used the Snowflake Symphony Perfectly Clear Stamps for the background the Winter Warm Clear Stamp Set and the Snow Place Clear Stamp Set

And congratulations to Melissa, too! She made this fun Fluffles card and used patterned paper for the packages which we love! Super cute! To make a card like Melissa’s, you need the Fluffles the Cat Perfectly Clear Stamp Set.

Saturday Sketch Challenge

This week was, hands down, the hardest Challenge to choose winners from! We have to show you what everyone made because there was just so much great creativity! So we will be posting those cards later this week. But for now we will show you the two cards we did choose…

Angela’s! Congrats, this card has a lot of great detail and I love the accessories she paired with the stamp image. It turned out so great!! Angela used the SSC263 Costume Kids Perfectly Clear Stamps, which will be available on our website later this week.

And congratulations to Melinda! I love how you used the background paw prints stamps as the background and to the U. Melinda used the Fluffles Wuv Perfectly Clear Stamps and the Love Journal Perfectly Clear Stamps.

This week’s challenge is to send us your best Christmas and Winter cards (or scrapbook pages) using Stampendous Christmas and Winter products, since we just released a TON of them online and at your local retailer carrying Stampendous product. The prize will be a Holiday stamp so you can use it to get ahead on this year’s holiday cards! Good luck everyone and check out what the design team made for a bit of holiday inspiration:

Cyndi made this playful card using the new Polar Path Cling Rubber Stamps set and White Ultra Fine Pearl Glitter.

Wendy made this perfect card using the Snowfall Rubber Stamp, Holiday Home Perfectly Clear Stamp Set (SSC1067), the Cling Rubber Cardinal Path Stamp Set, Cotton Ball White Flock from the FF906 Lollipop Flock Kit, white embossing powder from EK08 Carousel Embossing Kit, Copic markers and Creative Impressions ribbon

In this one she used M232 Cozy Penguin Trio woodmounted stamp, patterned paper, Copic markers, Chainletter Christmas Class A’Peel Stickers, Dot Sparklers Class A’Peel Stickers and Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink Pad

And here’s yet another fun card by Jen. She was on a roll this week! She used the NEW Polar Gifts Cling Rubber Stamp, Creative Impressions Silk Ribbon, a button, patterned paper, Prism Cardstock, Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink Pad and Copic markers: C1, C3, C5, C7, B95, BG10, YG63, 0, G000, RV95, R11
