Encrusted Jewel Technique Blog Hop – Chipboard Challenge Continues – October CAS Winner

Wow – it’s a busy week at Stampendous! You saw, no doubt, that we’re opening an Outlet store here on Monday. Whew.. that’s a job! But our busy Design Team doesn’t rest for anything and they’ve got us hopping this weekend.

Just after CHA last July our owner and Design Guru Fran Seiford made a YouTube video announcing the “happy accident” that led to her discovery of Fran’s Encrusted Jewel Technique. Here’s a link to that video for those of you that haven’t seen it yet:

One thing led to another and our amazing Design Team just took off with this idea! They have had so much fun sprinkling and spritzing and heating from underneath that they just HAVE to show you what they’ve done.

DT member Pam Hornschu coordinated a Blog Hop, and we’ve got some fantastic prizes for you so you can try this, too!!

Here are the bloggers in the Hop today:

How’s that for excitement!!! Well, it ain’t over yet!! Because you know we have our monthly challenge going on!
Last month we asked you to create a Clean And Simple Holiday card for any holiday, and tons of you leapt on board with your fantastic creations! We forgot to announce the winner last week for October’s Challenge. Today we’d like to congratulate Tenia Nelson for her non-traditional Thanksgiving Card! The drawing was completely random, but we happen to LOVE this card – the purple bow with the orange card is just so striking, and the chairs… well who isn’t thankful for chairs!!! Especially if you can fill them with family for the holiday meals! Fantastic job, Tenia!! Thanks so much for playing with us! We’ll be sending you the Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy stamp set so you can share some holiday joy with those you love!  We really appreciate ALL of you that played last month, what a lot of fantastic cards!! And we hope it got you started thinking about your holiday stamping!
This month the challenge is to show us what you can do with chipboard, (cough cough…ahem… encrusted jewel technique…cough cough) and several of our Designers hopped on this train to show us their stuff!
Our own Lynn Mercurio made this fantastic sample featuring our Jumbo Snow Couple from the July 2011 Catalog:
Snowfall Pair by Lynn Mercurio

We’re sad to say this stamp set has sold out, but we’re sure you can find it in one of your local retail stamp stores! We just love the way Lynn embossed on her chipboard after coloring it with ink. It’s just so classy! Many of our designers this week combined the Encrusted Jewel Technique Blog Hop with the Chipboard Challenge, so you’ll see lots of cool samples on your hop around the blogs.

What can you make with chipboard? We hope you’ll show us by clicking on the Linky tool below and linking to your terrific project! This month we have a Cling Jumbo Songbird Stamp Set up for grabs! Here’s the linky tool:

You have until Thursday, December 1 at 11:59 PM EST to add your link to the linky tool, and we’ll draw a random winner.  You can enter as many times as you’d like.

May Arts makes Stampendous Art even More Fun!

Today we’re showcasing some wonderful art from our Design Team Members. Taylor Usry used our CHA July Release P130 Magical Snowman (available in stores soon) together with some yummy turquoise ribbon (364-15-04) from May Arts. She added just a snippet of their green plaid ribbon (ABB16) to tie in the green paper and embossing on the card.

She embossed the snowman with Silver Tinsel embossing powder. The Snowflake Symphony Perfectly Clear Stamps were embossed in White, Aqua and Olive.  Taylor’s got another gorgeous card using May Arts ribbon for you on her blog today which is a completely different look.

Design Team Member Wendy Jordan is next up with a beautiful Fran•táge style card. This card features stamps from three of our newest CHA Release Perfectly Clear Stamp Sets. She used SSC1122 Elegant Borders on the top and bottom of the front panel. The cameo is made from a frame from SSC1118 Chandelier Perfectly Clear Stamps and the silhouette is from SSC1124 Charm Collection Perfectly Clear Stamps. Her background uses Fran’s Antique Embossing Technique. So fun and easy, but super elegant. The card is finished off with beautiful May Arts Ribbon XY14 and a second layer of NV-32 Faux Suede Ruffle Edge. Wow!!
