Stampendous Saturday Challenge – Embossing Tinsel Winners

We’d like to start out this morning by congratulating Britefoot and ej whose comments were chosen randomly by random.org as the winners of our Vintage Embossing Tinsels. I’ve emailed these stampers to let them know, and as soon as I get their mailing addresses I’ll pop their Tinsels in the mail.

Want another chance to win something fun? We’re giving away a Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy stamp set this month on our Stampendous Saturday Challenge Blog! We’re challenging you this month to come up with Clean and Simple (CAS) holiday cards for the coming holidays. (any holiday will do!).

We are getting you in the holiday spirit with our fantastic Design Team contributions here, then we’ll leave it up to you to link your creations to our Linky tool at the end of the post. If you can’t figure out the Linky tool, just put your link in a comment and the elves will link it for you. If you don’t have a website or blog, just post your card on any forum like SplitcoastStampers, PaperCraftPlanet, etc, OR put it on a Flickr group (like ours or yours), OR put it on your Facebook Photo Album OR start a blog just for your cards – it’s free. All of those things should let you generate a link to your project. Note that for this contest you don’t have to use Stampendous images. We love it when you do, (and we cry when you don’t), and ONLY projects featuring Stampendous images or products can be posted on our Flickr page. You have until Thursday, November 3 at 11:59 PM EST to link your project. You can enter as many projects as you like.

In the mood to win?? Ok…here are some fun ideas:

Snowman Flurry by Piali Biswas

First up this week is this adorable Snowman Flurry Perfectly Clear Stamps card by Piali Biswas, one of our BlogStars. She’s done a super cute job just stamping the snowman in black, coloring him a bit (ok, her coloring is amazing, but you wouldn’t have to do that much), and layering him on a white card with a bit of ribbon. She’s inked the greeting in three colors, super quick with markers, and added some jewels for some essential bling. Clean, Simple and Fabulous!! Great job, Piali!

Poinsettia Corner by Wendy Jordan

The fantastic Wendy Jordan from our Design Team joins us next with this beautiful Poinsettia Corner card. Also made up of two white layers, she’s stamped the poinsettia and the greeting in black then sat down with her markers and colored away. So fun… and so simple. She has added some beads to the centers of the poinsettias for some extra texture and pop. You could add glitter, or flocking, or Dot Sparklers Class A’Peel Stickers in these centers as well.

Wendy Price Jumbo Zinnia Set

Our own Wendy Price is sneak peeking a few goodies here for you. She’s used the border stamp from our brand new Cling Jumbo Zinnia Set as a fantastic background. She added a simple greeting on a tag and a big red bow. What could be simpler? Add some white dots with a gel pen and you’re good to go. Again you could add jewels or glitter or whatever instead of the dots. Take a look at that way cute greeting! Now run out to your local Hobby Lobby and buy one!!

Snowbuddy Photo Frame by LIsa Hindsley

In the office here at Stampendous our Art Director, Lisa, used our Snowbuddy Frame stamp to make a cute photo card for the holiday. Everyone likes sending photos. This simple stamp comes with a greeting in the frame, but you can just put a photo over that spot with a mini Glue Dot. Then folks can remove the photo and stick it on their fridge, and the greeting will show through. One stamp, some coloring and boom… cards done! This cute stamp is so easy to use for lots of CAS greetings. Here are a few other ideas using it:

Snowbuddy Shaker Card by Debbie Vaughan

Stamp it, cut out the greeting, glue acetate in the frame. Put some foam mounting tape around the back of the frame, fill with glitter. WOW… and our Silver Crushed Glass Glitter looks fantastic in this shaker card, too!

Snowbuddy Peek Card by Cyndi Bundy

Or don’t shaker it, just cut it out and glue the greeting on the inside. Your craft knife and cutting mat can easily do this trick. Simple and amazing. Got extra time, add glitter everywhere! You could also do this by putting the photo inside the card to peek through the frame.

Snowbuddy Bulletin Board by Wendy Price

Not quite as simple, but Wendy here used our Jumbo Snowflake White Velvet Class A’Peel stickers for her background, then cut out a piece of cork the size of the frame and made a cute bulletin board. She used tiny images from our SSC1067 Holiday Home Perfectly Clear Stamp Set to be the little pictures. Soooo cute. This was just about our favorite card from the July Catalog.

We’ve got more from our talented Design Teams on their blogs today – go have a look!

October Card Challenge – CAS Holiday Cards

It’s the first Saturday of the month, and that means it’s time for a new challenge with the Stampendous team!  This month to kick things off on World Card Making Day, we’re looking towards the holidays AND keeping it Clean and Simple. That’s right – we’re making Clean and Simple (CAS) holiday cards!!  You’ll see a few team members showing off more than one card today; some chose to make one CAS and then take that design and “step it up”.  Others made sets of CAS holiday cards to give as gifts or use to make a dent in the Christmas (or other holiday!!) card list.

But first…the winner from September’s Sketch Challenge!! We’d love to congratulate our randomly chosen winner – ArtyCarty!!!  Congratulations! We loved your card with buttons on it, and now you’ll have a fantastic stamp set to use on your next challenge entry. Email us your mailing address and we’ll get your prize right out to you!! (email us at  submissions@stampendous.com)

October Sketch Challenge Prize

October’s challenge is to join us in making CAS holiday cards. (any holiday!) We want to help you get into the holiday spirit, so this month we are giving away a Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy set to a random winner. You don’t have to use a Stampendous image or products to play along, but we sure love it when you do!  You have until Thursday, November 3 at 11:59 PM EST to add your link to the linky tool, and we’ll draw a random winner.  You can enter as many times as you’d like. (link to the official rules at the very top of our blog – you must have a US/APO/FPO or Puerto Rico address to win, but anyone can post their projects!!)

We’ve got a few jump starts for your imagination this weekend with lots of our Design Team creating CAS cards and posting them on their blogs. Here are just a few ideas:

Manger Silhouette by Lynn Mercurio

Lynn Mercurio is starting us off this month with this simple but oh so elegant example of an inspirational Christmas Card. She’s used our CRP137 Cling Manger Scene, CRN240 Cling Precious Bundle, and our luxurious black velvet AC990VK Jumbo Damask Leaves Class A’Peel Stickers. These fantastic velvet stickers are on a vinyl base with a fantastic adhesive that makes them dishwasher and microwave safe plus weather resistant, so they’re marvelous for indoor or outdoor craft use. They lend such an elegant air to a simple card.

Eiffle Noel by Kristine Reynolds

Kristine Reynolds this month celebrates a European holiday flavor with our CRP129 Cling Eiffel Noel embossed in our fantastic Pirate Gold Embossing Powder. What a beautifully simple card that anyone would be excited to receive (especially if you tuck a couple of tickets to Paris in the envelope!). The wood mounted version of this fantastic stamp is available at your local Michael’s Store.

Christmas Greeting by Taylor Usry

Challenge organizer and DT member Taylor Usry offers this CAS card using the fantastically versatile SSC1068 Christmas Wishes Perfectly Clear Stamps greeting set. The holly accents from the set provide just enough image while the sincere greeting remains the focal point. With four large greetings in one set you could create quite a variety of looks as well.

Finally, from the home office, in-house Sample Artist Debi Hammons offers a whimsical Christmas option this year as Changito the Monkey gets himself all tangled up in the Christmas lights. I know how he feels, I seem to end up in this situation every year at some point.

Changito Tree Lights by Debi Hammons

Debi has used CRV230 Cling Changito Tree Lights and CRG121 Cling Old World Greetings for this adorable card. After stamping and coloring Changito, she’s gone back and added some FL400 Cotton Ball White Fun Flock to the fur on his hat and some of our GX220U Multi Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter to the light bulbs for a touch of texture and fun. These were applied with a glue pen. When using flocking, be sure to press it into the adhesive with your finger before brushing away the excess to achieve good coverage.

Most of our Design Team members are playing along with our challenge today! You can check out their cards at the links below! To link your CAS Stampendous card to this month’s challenge just click on the little linky tool below and it will give you a spot to put the link to your card. We can’t wait to see what Clean and Simple Holiday means to you!!
