Embossing with Jan Garber

BlogStar Jan Garber is here with a fun embossing project for you today! A gorgeous Christmas card featuring some of our newest images. This should be reminding you to get out your embossing powders and make something marvelous to link to our challenge! You can link your projects on the linky tool in the right sidebar (the one with our F.E. Linus kitty!).  We also want you to check out an earlier project of Jan’s, we thought we posted it this week, but apparently not! Check out her super cute Special Delivery tag card HERE.

And while we’re on the subject of Christmas… please be sure to join us, starting tomorrow, for a whole week of handmade Christmas gifts! You’ll love these easy, fun, and amazing projects that you can give the special people in your life to give a touch of yourself this year.  Why not set aside some family Cre8time and do these as a family project?
I love to emboss!
And when I find stamps that lend themselves well to heat embossing, I go nuts!
The Stampendous stamps are SO clear and detailed that they stamp and hold the powder perfectly every time! And the “Detail Clear” embossing powder seeks out every tiny little detail and provides a perfect image!
Don’t you love new stamps? I know I do!
For this card, I kept it simple by stamping and clear embossing the
Jumbo “Pinecone Boughs” (currently on backorder, but available again in a week or so!)
several times off the left edge of my paper.
I then stamped the Cling “Poinsettia Background” in dark red onto white cardstock, and punched out several sized “ornaments”. The gorgeous sentiment is from the clear set, “Tis the Season”.
Notice that the sentiment mat is wrapped with ribbon like a gift, and finished off with a cute little bow on top!
With a bit of inking on all of the edges, popping up the ornaments, and dangling them from the silver bling, I’ve made a fairly simple, but pretty, holiday greeting!
I love to make a few simple cards every year that I can later make in multiples should I decide to send out duplicate cards to family or friends.
Time to start making those Christmas cards!
