Product Focus: Tinsel Embossing Powders – Wow!

We’re so excited that Craft Test Dummies reviewed our Vintage Embossing Tinsels today. You can read the review HERE.

Ever since Fran developed our three Vintage Embossing Tinsels for the Fran•táge line of Essentials in time for our July catalog we have been loving these three products. We’re finding the Mahogany to be especially good for fine line embossing with just a touch of bling. It’s just glorious.

Here are the three products:

TP116 Vintage Mahogany TP117 Vintage Plum TP118 Vintage Olive EmbossingTinsels

Here are samples of them heated:

We heated them on Kraft card stock (we like Neenah’s Desert Storm), and we sprinkled a bit off to the side so you can see this fun technique. We love to sprinkle all of our Fran•táge Embossing Powders and then heat from underneath to add texture, depth and interest to a project.  Our Design Team loves these powders, too. Here are some great projects we’ve made with them.

Vintage Tinsel Poinsettia by Jennifer Dove

In this card Jennifer Dove used Fran’s Painting with Powder Technique and our new Vintage Embossing Tinsels together with our new Poinsettia Silhouette.

Jumbo Stocking by Debi Hammons

In this fantastic project our in-house Sample Artist, Debi Hammons, has used the Vintage Plum Embossing Tinsel on pink card stock with our Cling Jumbo Holly Stocking stamp set to create a fun gift card holder. The Vintage Olive Tinsel was used on olive card stock to create the leaves in the background. What a sparkly way to present a simple gift. Debi also used our Crystal Glitter Mix from our Treasures Glitter Kit on the stocking trim and the leaves.

Finally, as Fran has been continuing to develop the Fran•táge line of images, products and techniques, she’s been working on her Encrusted Jewel Technique. She has just fallen in love with the way the Vintage Mahogany Tinsel works for fine line images like our Magical Snowman. You can see that here, plus a bonus sample using our fantastic Eiffel Noel stamp. You’ll notice how the encrusted micas, glitters, etc set off the simplicity of the design in the clear, crisp Mahogany.

Look closely at that card, you’ll see that Fran used the VersaMarker Pen by Tsukineko to color in the leaves and poinsettia on our Eiffel Noel card then filled them in by embossing with the Vintage Plum and Vintage Olive Tinsels. WOW!!

Soooo…

  2. oOOO. I’m going to the rubber stamp and scrapbook expo for first my time here in Vegas on of this month and I can’t wait to learn how to use these powders. So far I’ve only played with the clear embossing powder and that’s pretty fun. Want to wait to buy more powders after I learn how to use them first hand at the expo!
