National Stamping Day at Michaels – and a Sketch Challenge Reminder

Today is National Stamping Day, according to our friends at Michael’s Stores, and they’re demonstrating one of the most  popular stamping techniques, Heat Embossing, in their stores today from 10 am – 11 am. They’ll be using our Traveling Far stamp and the fantastic Recollections Blue Blaze Embossing Powder to demonstrate a simple yet dynamic holiday card idea. Hopefully you’ll be able to join them for some stamping fun.

We also hope you’re participating in our newly revived monthly Sketch Challenge. We hope we have all the bugs out if it, but we’re not quite sure we ever do. Thanks again for all your patience! As a reminder, here is the sketch again.

September 2011 Sketch Challenge Sketch

We’re loving all the things our Design Team has designed with this great sketch. We have more inspiration for you this week, too! First up is a fantastic card from Lynn Mercurio. I wonder if she knows I have a thing for those teeny tiny pom poms I can’t find anywhere?? Love her embossing in our EP208 Ivory Embossing Powder, it’s such a terrific color when white isn’t quite right. She used some stamps from the SSC1105 Daisy Stem Trio Perfectly Clear Stamps Set. WOW…a whole new look we haven’t seen from these images before!

Here’s another take on this fabulous sketch from Michael’s Design Team member Geny Cassady. She used our TC51 Foliate Quad Cube for an embossing resist style card featuring our EP100 White Embossing Powder. This cube of 4 fantastic foliage images is available at your local Michael’s Store or online on our website. Geny also used our R105 Dream Text background stamp for a fantastic, effortless background and the sentiment comes from the SSC109 Happy Messages Perfectly Clear Stamp Set also available at Michael’s or on our website.

And this week we have an offering from Wendy Price of our Design Team. Wendy also used the SSC1105 Daisy Stem Trio for her creation, but she used two of the main flower images making the circles in the sketch the background for her focal point. The circles are stamped with the P143 Carte Postale stamp you can also find at Michael’s or on our website. This card feature’s Wendy’s usual amazing attention to detail and fabulous coloring along with a truly distinctive bow!

Hopefully we’re giving you lots of inspiration for your Sketch Challenge entries! Remember…there are prizes on the line!! All you need to do is create something using the sketch and then link it to the Mr. Linky thingy below.  (ok… I am admitting I have absolutely NO idea how this Mr. Linky thing works, so if you don’t either, feel free to just include a link to your card in our comments and we’ll figure the whole thing out and make sure you get entered for the prizes!) You have until September 29th to link your project and you may enter as many times as you make a separate project. All the rules are at the link at the top of our Blog that says Sketch Challenge Rules.  Please be sure to visit the other entries and their blogs…finding new stampers is what makes these challenges so fun!  Your chances of winning are fairly good…there’s only one entry so far!! 🙂
