Easter Carrots Tutorial by Lisa Hindsley

Finished Bunny/Carrot Card

Easter is still nearly a month away, but it’s always a good idea to get an early start on special projects, so today I want to share this quick tutorial- I’ll show you how I made the carrots.

1. Cut three 2” by ½” orange strips of card stock. Round the top edges with a corner rounder, then cut the strips into triangle shapes. You should make a whole BUNCH of carrots!

Cutting the Carrots

You can cut either a straight line or make a more organic curvy carrot, by cutting a wavy line.

2.     Punch a hole in the top of the carrots, leaving one without a hole punch for the inside of the card.

Stamping the message

It’s best to stamp the message first, before making carrot crevices- both of the messages used on these carrots is from SSC266 Luv Bunnies. You could write something you made up yourself with a felt tipped pen!

Making Carrot Crevices

3. Using the kite from the SSC1103 Bunny set, stamp the carrot crevices with the string of the kite only. Be careful to not get ink on any other part of the kite stamp. I love finding unexpected ways to use my stamps- it adds to the overall value of the set.

4.    Insert a piece of green ribbon about 5” long on two of the carrots. Tie in a knot. You can also use chunky ric-rac as shown in the picture below.

And finally, here’s another view of the card with the carrots in the foreground.

Here’s the inside of the card…

This is why I left the hole out of one carrot. I used the “Hoppy Easter” curly stamp as the carrot’s top. I colored around the tops with a light green colored pencil.

Quick and Simple Bunny Bookmark

Here’s a book Marker made with SSC266 Luv Bunnies Perfectly Clear Set. This is the set that has the messages. It also has this cute little bunny.

  1. Only Lisa would create a card with an upside-down bunny watering carrots…maybe the bunny is in Australia? Hmmm.
Graphics01-Wouldn’t it just be faster to throw water balloons at the carrots?

BTW…love the card, Lisa. Lots of fun stuff inside and out…and upside-down.
