PenPatterns are Here!

Fran has done it again, and in our April 2014 Catalog we’re introducing one of her newest ideas, PenPatterns.

Folks seem to have taken to doodling in and out of shapes for their stamped artwork lately, so Fran has created some images that are perfect for this new trend. These charming images have large open spaces ideal for doodling your own patterns into with either black or colored pens or pencils.

PenPatterns are available in both wood mounted and Cling Rubber

You can also enjoy stamping patterns into them with our new PenPatterns background tiles. (psst…these also make great card and page backgrounds!)

Finally, these terrific images make just plain fun coloring! We took them with us to Los Angeles this past Saturday for La Feria de los Niños and the kids had an absolute blast coloring them! Our good friends at Faber-Castell USA were good enough to supply colored pencils for us to use. Our friends at Prima Marketing sent along some fantastic adhesive jewels and paper flowers. The kids were in heaven! Look at this proud miss with her finished work!

And have you ever seen anyone color more intently than these two little crafters? Our new PenPatterns were a HUGE hit!

Our terrific April products are also now available on our brand new website! Just like always, your orders will be filled by local retail stores using the Shopatron order fulfillment system. It’s such a good way to support small business while shopping online. In many cases you can even pick up the products in the store to avoid shipping charges! You’ll find all the newest goodies under the What’s New Icon at http://www.stampendous.com!

You’ll be seeing a lot of the April Catalog Samples here in the coming weeks, but we asked our Design Team this week to share their favorites with you! Here are the links to those terrific posts. Be sure to leave them some love in the form of your happy comments while you’re there!

Hello Stampers! Sorry to be absent for a bit, we’ve been tweaking our new website getting ready for the grand reveal. It just took a bit more tweaking than anticipated. Thanks so much for your patience as we’ve worked out the kinks. We’ll make a separate post for that before the end of the week!

Last week we didn’t get to post much, but our Design Team sure did. They were working with the best of Stampendous’ Inspirational offerings sending Easter thoughts out to all of you for our new month! Don’t you love the gorgeous samples by DT Member Wendy Price above? Such rich, luscious color. She’s fantastic! Hopefully you’ll enjoy the creative and gorgeous samples they all made! Hop around, leave them some love in the form of supportive comments! We’ll be back with more excitement tomorrow!

TombowUSA Collaboration Week

Blog Hop_Stampendous

This week we are absolutely delighted to be working with the team at TombowUSA, creators of amazing markers and adhesives. Over the last 40 years Tombow has been expanding their flagship line of pencils to include pens, adhesives, and premium markers for all types of artists and art projects.

These markers are waterbased and blended with a blending pen, slightly different than the alcohol based brands our Design Team is used to using these days. This collaboration gave many of them the opportunity to learn something new. We always leap at that!! Marie Browning, one of Tombow’s top designers, graciously created a learning guide combining our stamps and these terrific products. We hope to share some of that guide with you later this week! Meanwhile, she also created for us our Tombow coloring guide for coloring the House-Mouse Designs® mice. You can find that HERE.

Because of the way Tombow structures their blog posts, it will be just our team for the beginning of the week, then their team will join us on Friday for the big hop! There will, of course, be prizes! And you will want to be sure to like our pages on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and Pinterest, and subscribe to and comment on our blogs. Lots of opportunities to win. Plus, of course, you need to have a US address (sorry!). We’re excited to share.

The Color Fun Continues with Faber-Castell

faber castell gelatos

Our week of playing with Faber-Castell continues today, and we are LOVING all your comments! We’d be so super grateful if you could all run over to the Stampendous Facebook Page and like us there, too! Pretty please!

Several of you have said you’d like more information on how to use the gelatos. They can be used in so many different ways! Well, we found this fantastic video on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft website! Tiffany Johnson from Iheartart made this great video for one of our favorite customers Simon Says Stamp. We love how she gets right in there with her fingers. We need to do that more.

Bunches of you were excited about the castle like we were!! Ok, we’re not headed to Germany this week, but you CAN take a virtual tour of the castle and see some super awesome magnificence. Check that out HERE.

But for those of you who just want more INSPIRATION, we’ve got that for you today as well. In the office here I took a paper mache box and painted it with Faber-Castell Chalkboard paint. This paint went on really smoothly and dried very quickly. I put two coats on to cover it all and keep it smooth. The matte finish is just gorgeous and perfect for chalk/markers/pencils….

But, of course, I had to emboss on it. Our Q170 Zinnia embossed with White Embossing Powder and VersaMark ink looked amazing. I added the H303 Have I Told You the same way. Then I used the Neutral Art Grip Pencils to color in the flower. I did the petals in white and gray and the center in the goldish color. I highlighted everything with the Metallic PITT Pens set. Then the Stamper’s BIG White Pen provided the little dots, followed up by the gold metallic PITT Pen.  Super happy with the result, may be my Mother’s Day gift… hee hee.

Our Design Team has more inspiration for you today, too. And remember that tomorrow will be our BIG blog hop! You will have until the end of Sunday to comment and be entered to win some terrific prizes (hint, chalkboard ink is in one of the prize packages!). Here’s who is blogging today:

Stampendous loves Faber-Castell!

faber castell gelatos

Ok, we’ve collaborated with a lot of terrific companies recently. But as far as I know this is the only one that owns it’s own CASTLE! Yep! You can actually take a tour! Cabinet-maker Kaspar Faber began making pencils in the 1660′s! A family owned business, Faber-Castell has risen from these humble beginnings to become internationally synonymous with fine writing instruments. In 1908 the company added colored pencils to their line, and their familiarity and quality with artists was established. They still make the highest quality writing instruments and artists supplies available, and we feel honored and lucky to be partnering with such a distinguished firm this week! We’re also excited that Faber-Castell is also a Shopatron company like Stampendous. This means that orders from the manufacturer’s website are actually filled by individual retailers across the country, supporting local communities and businesses.

Faber-Castell was extremely generous to our Design Team sending us tons of products from their Design Memory Craft range. Many stampers and scrapbookers will be familiar with Gelatos and other products from this fine company. These products are at the forefront of the Mixed Media movement in scrapbooking, stamping and home decor, a perfect kick off for Mixed Media March – our Monthly Blog Challenge. We hope you’ll enjoy the terrific inspiration we’ve got for you this week!

Be sure to leave comments! Like all Blog Hops we’ve got prizes this week! And believe me, they were as generous for our prizes as they were for our Design Team!
