Love to You by Tenia Nelson

Love To You

If music is love in search of a word, then music themed cards are love in search of a stamp….or something like that! Our BlogStar, Tenia is a musician in search of a stamp for sure, and she has found the perfect combination in this sweet purple pleasing card with our Cling Music Score Background stamp and Love To You Sentiment.

If you’re a blogger in search of a Guest Design Team position, you may have applied for our BlogStars team! Applications closed last Friday and we’ve been struggling all week with the MASSIVE talent of the folks we received applications from. Wow… there’s so much serious talent out there. We’ll announce our picks tomorrow! Stay tuned!

Just a Little Note for You

Kristine Reynolds has a beautiful card for us today. Here at Stampendous lots of our kids are musical, so we’re always excited when we see what she’s done with our music stamps. Her kids are musical, too…and here’s her story about this card:

My son and I went to University North Texas last weekend for their Spring Open House.  They have a top ranked Jazz Studies program there that my son is really interested in.  While we were there the head of the department met with us to answer our questions and took some time to listen to my son play his trumpet and give him some feedback.  I appreciate the time he took with us and wanted to send him a note to thank him.  This is the card I came up with.

Introducing Stampendous BlogStars!

Recently we selected 4 talented paper artists to help us write our blog. Our four BlogStars are making their debuts this week beginning with Kristine Reynolds. Kristine is a neighbor of Stampendous here in sunny, Southern California. With a job, an 18 year old, a 16 year old, and a labrador Kristine is kept busy volunteering with the marching band, designing for everyone, and general life. We were lucky she could squeeze us into her schedule! Kristine sent two projects this week, so we’ll show one today and one on Wednesday.  Here’s her first project together with her instructions for completing this darling scrapbook page.

Musical Memories by Kristine Reynolds

stamping and scrapping in california

Kristine Reynolds

Today, I have a scrapbook page to share with you.  It’s been a while since I’ve done any scrapbooking but I just took these pictures at my daughter’s concert last week and wanted to get them scrapped right away!  I wanted to keep the page clean and simple so I kept the extras to a minimum.  The Narcissus flower added the perfect elegant touch to finish off my page.

STAMPS: SSC1107 Narcissus Perfectly Clear Stamps by Stampendous
PAPER: Neenah White, Bazzil Basics Black & Red (all 12 x 12)
INK: VersaMark by Tsukineko, Copic Markers (BG000)
OTHER: Stampendous GX220U Multi Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter, EP111 Midnight Black Embossing Powder
Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval dies, Cricut Jasmine Font

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Trim the white cardstock to 11 ½” x 11 ½” and back with a 11 ¾” x 11 ¾” red cardstock, and then adhere these layers to a  12” x 12” black cardstock page.
  2. Adhere the ¼” red strips that were trimmed off the red page to the bottom and right side of the page as shown.
  3. Stamp the Narcissus flower on a white panel with watermark ink and emboss with Midnight Black embossing powder.
  4. Trim around edges of flower.
  5. Add glue to center of flowers and cover with glitter.  Allow to dry and then shake excess glitter back into the jar.
  6. Add subtle shading with light blue copic marker before adhering flower to scrapbook page with pop dots.
  7. Trim and back pictures with white and black cardstock before adding to page.
  8. Cut out “Musical Memories” using Cricut Machine and adhere to page
  9. Journal as you wish.

Designers Note: You could use sticker letters or hand write or cut out your own title if you don’t own a Cricut Machine!

The Narcissus flower is the perfect embellishment for scrapbook pages and can be colored to match whatever color theme you have on your page!  I hope you are feeling inspired to get scrappin’!  Have a terrific day and thanks for stopping by!
