Still More New Images from Stampendous!

We are really enjoying the opportunity this week of bringing you some of our newest images and projects from our amazing team of Designers. Our October Catalog for Spring is one of our most exciting ever, we just loved every single one of them. But our favorites always seem to be our new Cling Jumbo Images. We just can’t get enough of these terrific, extra large images that just leap off the page and make Home Decor, Scrapbooks and Cards so dramatic and exciting.

One of our newest BlogStars, Yana Smakula, brings us a post today all the way from the Ukraine. She’s been playing with one of our newest Jumbo Sets, Cling Jumbo Butterfly Trio. We know these butterflies will be a must-have for your collection. Just look what Yana has done with them. Then visit the blogs of the other Design Team Members playing today. Maybe some butterflies will flutter your way! (but only if you have a U.S. Mailing Address)

Hi everyone! BlogStar Yana Smakula here and today I have a simple card using a stunning butterfly from CRS5044 Jumbo Butterfly Trio stamp set.
To create a card I stamped a butterfly from CRS5044 Jumbo Butterfly Trio stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock:
I then coloured the stamped image with Copic markers and cut it out leaving a small white border around the image:
I created a front card panel 3 3/4 by 5 1/4 inches and attached butterfly with a flower brad, slightly curled the wings to give it more dimension:
Finally I created a white card base 4 by 5 1/2 inches and adhered the front panel to the card base:
Supplies used:
  • Stamps: CRS5044 Cling Jumbo Butterfly Trio stamp set
  • Cardstock: Dovecraft
  • Pattern Paper: Pebbles
  • Brad: Pebbles
  • Gems: Dovecraft
  • Adhesive: Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives.

(Stampendous NOTE: We’re amazed Yana got this look with VersaFine and Copics. That usually doesn’t work very well for us. We’d recommend Memento ink for use with your Copic markers)

NOW – Flutter by for a look at what some other team members are doing! You’ll love what they’ve got to show you!

Turning 34!

April Derrick - BlogStar

April Derrick, one of our newest BlogStars, has been inspired to scrap about being 34 years old.  She sure crammed a lot into one year! We think she forgot to say that she got to be a Stampendous BlogStar! But she made a really fun layout using our Cling Jumbo Butterfly Pair, and lots of other great products! A new fun feature for our blog posts is that our Art Director, Lisa Hindsley, made these terrific photos of all our team so we can use one every time we post their projects! Smiling faces! It’s what we’re all about here at Stampendous!

Other Supplies:
Cardstock: Core’dinations Tim Holtz Kraft Core
Flowers: Petaloo
Shimmer Mist: Tattered Angels
Artist Canvas Tape: Prima Marketing
Ribbon: May Arts
Distress Stain: Ranger
Ink: Staz On by Tsukineko
Pen: Uni-ball
Stickers: American Crafts
Adhesive: Ad Tech
Jewel Brad: Paper Studio
Chipboard

Instructions:
1. Peel the butterfly stamps off of the cling sheet and place them onto the Jumbo Clear Handle.
2. Apply ink to butterfly stamps and press them onto the page.
3.  Use the distressed circle stamp from the Altered Type Alphabet Stamp sheet, apply ink to it and then stamp it on the page in various places.
4. Cut a strip of artist tape, (or you can use a strip of canvas or even white cardstock) – peel off the back and stick it onto a non-stick craft sheet. Apply a light coat of distress stain to the tape.
5. After it dries, use the Romantic Border stamp to add a design on top of the tape. (note: I chose to use similar stain and ink colors so the tape would end up with more of a tone on tone effect)
6. Use shimmer mist to spritz chipboard circles and set them aside to dry. If you would like, add a few drops of the mist to your page around the butterfly stamps.
7. Use a tape runner to apply a strip of adhesive along the top and bottom of the page, then pour some crushed glass glitter over it and press down on the glitter with your fingers.
8. Stand the page on it’s side to knock off any extra glitter and be sure to save it to use on another project.
9. Use a sanding block to distress the edges of the cardstock, and then use an ink pad to lightly color the edges after sanding.
10. After your misted chipboard is dry, use a tape runner to apply arrow or chevron patterns across the top. Then add some crushed glass glitter and press down with your fingers. Shake off the excess and then add the new chipboard glitter embellishments to your page!
11. To complete the page, add your photo, some flowers and various embellishments, a title, and  handwritten journaling!

Jumbo Thank You by Kristine Reynolds

In this sample Kristine made a super simple card, she embossed the Jumbo Thank You on an ivory card with Clear Bark embossing powder (available in our Scenic Selection Embossing Kit, or at Michael’s Stores). She brushed her embossing ink around the edge of the panel, too and added embossing powder for a framed look. A little spritzing with some spray mist and voila! Gorgeous!

The next example is from our newest Design Team member Janelle Stollfus. She’s done a gorgeous tone on tone Kraft sample that is so easy but  oh so elegant!

Jumbo Thank You by Janelle Stollfus

Janelle shows here how just a little stitching and distressing around the edge of a delicately printed cardstock can make a simple stamp take on a life of its own. You KNOW you love a quick card like this when you need to send a grateful thanks in a hurry! Here’s another photo of the whole card.

Last, but not least, Jennifer Ingle (Jingle) made a great card for us using the leaves portion of the Jumbo Thank You set. Stamped in black with some crushed glass glitter along the edges, it’s a fancy, fun way to say thanks!

Jumbo Thank You by Jennifer Ingle

Jingle used a rub on for her greeting. Look how the texture in her paper makes the solid leaves of the Jumbo Thank You stamp take on a pattern that is just incredible. We love this card!

We know this Jumbo Thank you is going to be one of your favorite stamp sets! We sure hope you get yours for free during March – National Craft Month!

Jumbo Thank You

BlogStar Geny Cassady has a darling Thank You card for us today with some delicate hand made flowers accenting the fabulous leaf from the Jumbo Cling Thank You Stamp Set. She’s combined these with one of our traditional favorite stamps, Dream Text, for a fabulous card anyone would love to receive. Here’s what Geny says about it:

Today I have a card using a wonderful selection of Stampendous images, a beautiful text background, a lovely jumbo leaf image and a fun sentiment.  I have fallen in love with all of Stampendous’ colorful embossing powders and I used a couple here to emboss the leaf image with the perfect green powder and the sentiment with a rich brown.  My favorite thing on this card though is the delightful tissue paper flowers I created.  So easy and fun to create, just be careful when separating the layers as that tissue is really delicate.  I love how fluffy and unique each flower is, the more layers the fuller the flower, too!  I hope you enjoy this pretty card today!

Jumbo Dahlia Birthday

Ok… we’ll admit it… we just can’t get enough of this Jumbo Dahlia! What an amazing and versatile stamp, and Geny Cassady has, yet again, come up with a fabulous card using this stamp. We just love the way it looks terrific in any color, any technique, on any paper. Here’s what Geny says:

I absolutely, positively love the Jumbo stamp series, but none as much as this gorgeous dahlia.  It is so pretty, I have been stamping it on everything!  For this card I used two complimenting colors to ink it before stamping it on crisp white cardstock. And I love it just like that, no coloring necessary!  I added simple glitter accents throughout, working a little at a time so the glue wouldn’t dry before I got the glitter on. I added a couple of simple elements, a little label with a sentiment and a pretty satin bow.  Thank you so much for visiting today!”

Purple Dahlia

We are absolutely loving all the things we’re seeing folks do with our gorgeous Dahlia stamp! If you’ve done something wonderful, be sure and scan or photograph it and send it to us at submissions@stampendous.com. We’re finding that this stamp is just scrumptious no matter how folks use it. A perfect example of this is today’s BlogStar post from Kristine Reynolds. Kristine has made a super cute and simple card using this gorgeous Jumbo Cling flower. Kristine says:

I hope you are having a terrific week!  With all the rain we have been having in California lately I felt the need  to bring a little Spring into the house so I have been playing with the beautiful cling Jumbo Dahlia stamp.  I am not usually a CAS (Clean & Simple) card maker but this flower is so gorgeous that I wanted to keep the card simple so that nothing would take away from it.

Butterflies, and Glitter, and Jewels…Oh, My!

Geny Cassady is back today with an exquisite card featuring Stampendous CRS5008 Jumbo Cling Butterfly Pair and SSC1115 Birthday Assortment Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. Here’s Geny:

Today I have a card to share that is perfect for spring!  I used the fabulous Jumbo Butterfly Pair (the smaller butterfly), heat embossing it and then adding a soft sponging of white ink.  I love the look it created with the darker ocean colored card stock.  I also added a fun element by taking most of the sentiments from the Birthday Assortment and stamping them along the bottom randomly, creating my own custom “text” background.  One more fun thing, I used vellum card stock as a card base which I really love doing sometimes, it just adds a bit more fancy to the whole card!

4. Stamp birthday sentiments randomly on bottom strip, add one sentiment to bottom right corner in brown ink.
5. Trim small piece of coordinating patterned paper and adhere to card right between butterflies and sentiments.  Add a strip of scor-tape and glitter.
6. Punch small butterfly from vellum and glue center only near sentiment.  Add rhinestone to center as well as to embossed butterflies on the upper part of the card.
7. Adhere to vellum card base with dimensional adhesive.

Custom Papers with our Jumbo Dahlia

Watch our newest video posted yesterday on how to create your very own custom paper using our fabulous CRS5007  Jumbo Cling Dahlia stamp. Here are a few close up shots of the paper designed and hand made by Tammie Wilson. Our National Craft Month Banner project on our website today is the amazing Butterfly Book by our Graphics Manager, Laura Weed.  Laura used Tammie’s paper and some lovely photographs by her father who is a professional photographer to make this gorgeous book. She also incorporated one of our most popular project techniques that Fran Seiford, our artist and owner developed to use with our embossing powders: Fran’s Painting with Powder.

Here’s a closer view of the details:
