Introducing Rhea Weigand

Meet new BlogStar Rhea Weigand -
My first Stampendous Project for the Blog Star Team!  How exciting this is…I hope I can exceed the expectations :)
If you know me, you know I love TAGS!  Tags are great for perfecting your techniques.  I keep all of mine together on big rings.  When I need inspiration I turn to my rings of tags.  When I need a quick card, I’ve been known to grab a tag and the hard work of the card is done :)  So with my love of tags I chose to make a tag for Stampendous.
I  love the Jumbo Stamps from Stampendous.  Each is unique and bold with a lot of detail.
Here, I’ve used Songbird and the swirl from Jumbo Tulip.
First I started by stamping and embossing Songbird with chunky and detail clear powders on super smooth white card stock.  I then worked my lightest background colors (distressed inks). Now, stamp and emboss the swirl…again, with chunky and fine clear powders.  Continue inking until the desired look is achieved.  Now that your inking is done, take a paper towel and lightly mist with water, wipe ink off of embossed areas.  This is why I used distressed inks.  Finish with embossing the edges with 2 powders, vintage mahogany and aged gold.  Tie your ribbons and ooh-la-la all done…well, I thought I was until I decided to add a little tag using crown charm stamp…perfect…now it’s done.
I hope you found a little inspiration from this project!
Here is another quick list of what I used

Won’t You Wonderland With Us?

We’re walking in an Alice Wonderland this month, all month long – celebrating with the folks over at the Altered Alice Blog and creating fantastic works of art with our Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamps Set.

Our theme is Splendidly Dressed, and that certainly sums up the gorgeous inspiration we have for you today!  Our own Design Team Member Lynn Mercurio created this incredible card that anyone would be thrilled to receive on their birthday… or their unbirthday!

Splendidly Dressed for Your Birthday by Lynn Mercurio

Lynn has used the art of embellishment in a positively Victorian way on this fantastic greeting card. The die cut layer, the sponging, the ribbons, roses, doily, hearts! Wow! It all speaks to the amazing spirit of Victoriana that is so Alice!

Hopefully your own creation is just about Splendidly Dressed because time is running out! Link your art to the linky tool at the Altered Alice Blog for a chance to win this fun Wonderland stamp set! Before you go, though, be sure to grab our blinkie for your blog!

Wonderland Awaits

So hopefully you’ve had a chance to wander over to the Altered Alice Blog this month and see what everyone is doing with our fantastic Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. Remember that you have all month to link a project to their Linky Tool over there and possibly win this set for yourself. Alice themed entries count double, of course!

We’ve got some more inspiration for you today from our Design Team. This pretty in pink sample comes to you from Jennifer Dove. If you scroll a bit through Jennifer’s blog you’ll see what a departure for her this Alice card is! She is usually the Queen of Copic Coloring, but for this greeting she stuck to a monochromatic color scheme and her favorite Vintage Mahogany Embossing Tinsel. The sparkle of the tinsel combined with the gorgeous May Arts ribbon makes this card really Splendidly Dressed! (that’s the theme, remember?)

Sorry I'm Late by Jennifer Dove

If you’re participating in this challenge, be sure to snag the blinkie below for your blog! It was created from our Wonderland set by our very own Art Director, Lisa Hindsley!

We sure hope you’ll play along with us! Follow us down that Rabbit Hole, and get creating!

Happy Unbirthday

Well, by now you must know we’ve been wandering in Wonderland as we ponder the following quote from Chapter 2 of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland:

“After a time she heard a little pattering of feet in the distance, and she hastily dried her eyes to see what was coming. It was the White Rabbit returning, splendidly dressed, with a pair of white kid gloves in one hand and a large fan in the other: he came trotting along in a great hurry, muttering to himself as he came, `Oh! the Duchess, the Duchess! Oh! won’t she be savage if I’ve kept her waiting!’”

Along with the folks at the Altered Alice Blog, we’re feeling quite splendidly dressed over here at Stampendous. Their Design Team and ours have been using our wonderful Perfectly Clear Stamps Set Wonderland to stamp some Alice inspired amazingness! We hope you’ve been hopping by frequently to check out the new creations and perhaps size up the competition. AND we hope you’ll consider joining us with your splendidly dressed best!

To inspire your creativity today we’ve got a beautiful card that our Design Team Member Wendy Jordan created for our January Catalog.

Birthday in Wonderland by Wendy Jordan

You can just see the mad inspiration Wendy had for this terrific card! Any Alice lover would be thrilled to receive this greeting.

So now wander over to Altered Alice and enter your creation on the linky tool. Remember it doesn’t have to be Alice Themed…just Splendidly Dressed. But Alice themed projects count double!

Be sure to grab yourself our blinkie, too! You’ll want our Alice blinking out from your blog to remind you of this very merry occasion!

Alice All April – Dreaming All Week

All April we’re celebrating with the folks over at the Altered Alice Blog as their Design Team and ours use the Stampendous Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamp Set to create some fantastic adventures based on the following quote from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland -

Oh! won’t she be savage if I’ve kept her waiting!’”– Chapter 2; Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

We’re hoping you’ll join us in creating on the theme “Splendidly Dressed” by submitting your own creations over at Altered Alice where, you know, Alice themed entries count twice!

We’ve got some more inspiration for you today from our splendidly dressed Design Team Member, Suzanne Czosek. Suzanne’s work is always an astonishment to us here at Stampendous and this creation is no exception. She created an amazing background from the tile pattern in our Wonderland set, and she’s got an entire adventure happening on one card!

Late for Your Birthday by Suzanne Czosek

Receiving this card you would just KNOW that the sender had been quite unavoidably detained in preparing your birthday greeting…you’d just HAVE to forgive her, wouldn’t you?!

If you should decide to play along with our Altered Alice friends, be sure to snag the blinkie below for your blog!

April in Wonderland

Are any of our fans out there also Alice in Wonderland fans? Here at Stampendous we love Victorian art and literature and just think Alice is fantastic! In January we released our Wonderland Perfectly Clear™ Stamps Set, and folks have been enjoying making their own creations reminiscent of this classic series of books.

SSC1135 Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamps

We decided this April to partner with the Altered Alice Blog to explore just where our Wonderland set could go.  Blog owner Lynne Phelps threw out this quote from Alice in Wonderland, Chapter 2 as the inspiration for this challenge!

Oh! won’t she be savage if I’ve kept her waiting!’”– Chapter 2; Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

We hope you’ll play along and enter your wondrous creations to possibly win our Wonderland stamp set.

Of course our fantastic Design Team leapt on this opportunity and came up with their own amazing creations!

Pam Hornschu starts us off this month with her version of a timely birthday greeting!

Wonderland Watch by Pam Hornschu

Pam used the Altered Alphabet Perfectly Clear Stamp set plus Aged Gold Embossing Enamel along with her Wonderland set to create this gorgeous card.  She shows a perfect example of Fran’s Encrusted Jewel Technique!  You can get all the details on this beautiful project on Pam’s blog.

Wendy Price also played along this week. On her morning walk in Haddonfield, New Jersey she happened across a store window all decked out with cards in an Alice theme. There was even a keyhole shaped opening in the back lined with playing cards. She made this fabulous scrapbook layout incorporating her Wonderland set to make faux playing cards.

A Bit of Wonderland by Wendy Price

You can see all the details of this terrific page on Wendy’s Blog.

Are you inspired to play? Your entry doesn’t have to be Alice themed, but Alice themed entries count twice. Hop on over to the Altered Alice Blog and link your projects to the Linky Tool there and check out what their Design Team is working on with our Wonderland set. Then create your own entry based on the theme above.

Finally, if you decide to play with us… here’s a blinky for your blog so the world will know you love Alice, too!
