Hop In and “Sea” What’s New! – Color Fragments Blog Hop

This Saturday the Stampendous team has something extra special planned for you…we have combined our regular monthly challenge with a blog hop showcasing some of the great new products released at CHA last month!  Pull up a chair, grab a warm beverage and yummy snack, and get ready to be wowed!

We’ve asked our Design Team to use our new Color Fragments for this Blog Hop, creating a card, scrapbook page, or out of the box project with these little bits of pure color. Color Fragments can be applied with any adhesive, mixed with resins, paints, clays, or just used around the house in plants, fish bowls, candles, soaps, any craft you care to tackle. They are non-toxic, don’t melt at normal embossing temperatures, and you can easily crush them if you desire smaller flakes or different shapes. You’ll love our five spring colors, and you’ll adore what our team has done with them.  Now, check out the whole list of fabulousness for today:

and a VERY special guest designer for this Blog Hop

As you hop from blog to blog, being wowed by all the amazing new goodies we are showing off, be sure to leave some love (and your contact email) for the designers, as well as here on the Stampendous blog. The more you comment, the better your chances are to win one of these five fantastic prize packs.  Each one includes a brand new stamp set and bottle of color fragments:

Winners will be randomly selected from all comments left on blogs, so the more you comment the better your chances are to win one!!  You have until Sunday, February 12 th at 8:00 PM EST to leave a comment on each blog; winners will be announced on Monday, February 13th. Due to shipping restrictions, all winners must have a US/APO/FPO mailing address.

It’s Card Flocking Season!

We are so enjoying all the ideas and talent our Blog Stars have to add to our Blog. In this sample card, Janelle Stollfus has flocked her background paper for a soft touch.

Season Greetings by Janelle Stollfus

Here’s her directions:

Supplies:

Stampendous Caramel Latte Fun Flock
Stampendous Cling Rubber Petals Nouveau

Stampendous Cling Rubber Scrolled Seasons

4 ¼ x 11 inch kraft card stock
4 ¼ x 5 1/2 inch dark brown card stock
4 x 5 1/4 brown cardstock
6-inch red satin ribbon
Brown ink
Glue pad
Pop dots, tape runner
Ruler
Lifestyles Craft nesting inverted square cutting die

Instructions:

1. Fold the 4 1/4 x 11 inch kraft card stock in half. This is your card base.

2. Using a metal ruler or straight edge as a guide, tear away 1/8- 1/4 inch on all sides of the dark brown card stock. Adhere to the card base.

3. Cling the Petals Nouveau stamp and dab on the glue pad making sure the whole image has plenty of glue ink on it. Stamp onto the brown card stock. While the glue is still wet, sprinkle the fun flock over the glue. Let it sit for a few minutes and shake off the excess. Set it aside to dry.

4. Ink the Scrolled Seasons stamp with brown ink and stamp onto kraft card stock. Die cut or trim down the image to a 3 1/4 – inch square (size of die used).

5. TIP: Use a clean dry ruler or piece of paper to press the dried flock down onto the card stock. This “crushes” the flock and allows it to show the design of the stamp used.

6. Tie ribbon ends into a knot and slant cut the ends neatly. Cut the middle of the ribbon and use those ends to wrap around the back of the flocked brown card stock. Position the knot off center to the right and adhere ends to the back.

7. Adhere the flocked piece onto the dark brown panel on the card base.

8. Use pop dots on the back of the Scrolled Seasons piece and adhere next to the ribbon.

9. You’re finished!

October Card Challenge – CAS Holiday Cards

It’s the first Saturday of the month, and that means it’s time for a new challenge with the Stampendous team!  This month to kick things off on World Card Making Day, we’re looking towards the holidays AND keeping it Clean and Simple. That’s right – we’re making Clean and Simple (CAS) holiday cards!!  You’ll see a few team members showing off more than one card today; some chose to make one CAS and then take that design and “step it up”.  Others made sets of CAS holiday cards to give as gifts or use to make a dent in the Christmas (or other holiday!!) card list.

But first…the winner from September’s Sketch Challenge!! We’d love to congratulate our randomly chosen winner – ArtyCarty!!!  Congratulations! We loved your card with buttons on it, and now you’ll have a fantastic stamp set to use on your next challenge entry. Email us your mailing address and we’ll get your prize right out to you!! (email us at  submissions@stampendous.com)

October Sketch Challenge Prize

October’s challenge is to join us in making CAS holiday cards. (any holiday!) We want to help you get into the holiday spirit, so this month we are giving away a Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy set to a random winner. You don’t have to use a Stampendous image or products to play along, but we sure love it when you do!  You have until Thursday, November 3 at 11:59 PM EST to add your link to the linky tool, and we’ll draw a random winner.  You can enter as many times as you’d like. (link to the official rules at the very top of our blog – you must have a US/APO/FPO or Puerto Rico address to win, but anyone can post their projects!!)

We’ve got a few jump starts for your imagination this weekend with lots of our Design Team creating CAS cards and posting them on their blogs. Here are just a few ideas:

Manger Silhouette by Lynn Mercurio

Lynn Mercurio is starting us off this month with this simple but oh so elegant example of an inspirational Christmas Card. She’s used our CRP137 Cling Manger Scene, CRN240 Cling Precious Bundle, and our luxurious black velvet AC990VK Jumbo Damask Leaves Class A’Peel Stickers. These fantastic velvet stickers are on a vinyl base with a fantastic adhesive that makes them dishwasher and microwave safe plus weather resistant, so they’re marvelous for indoor or outdoor craft use. They lend such an elegant air to a simple card.

Eiffle Noel by Kristine Reynolds

Kristine Reynolds this month celebrates a European holiday flavor with our CRP129 Cling Eiffel Noel embossed in our fantastic Pirate Gold Embossing Powder. What a beautifully simple card that anyone would be excited to receive (especially if you tuck a couple of tickets to Paris in the envelope!). The wood mounted version of this fantastic stamp is available at your local Michael’s Store.

Christmas Greeting by Taylor Usry

Challenge organizer and DT member Taylor Usry offers this CAS card using the fantastically versatile SSC1068 Christmas Wishes Perfectly Clear Stamps greeting set. The holly accents from the set provide just enough image while the sincere greeting remains the focal point. With four large greetings in one set you could create quite a variety of looks as well.

Finally, from the home office, in-house Sample Artist Debi Hammons offers a whimsical Christmas option this year as Changito the Monkey gets himself all tangled up in the Christmas lights. I know how he feels, I seem to end up in this situation every year at some point.

Changito Tree Lights by Debi Hammons

Debi has used CRV230 Cling Changito Tree Lights and CRG121 Cling Old World Greetings for this adorable card. After stamping and coloring Changito, she’s gone back and added some FL400 Cotton Ball White Fun Flock to the fur on his hat and some of our GX220U Multi Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter to the light bulbs for a touch of texture and fun. These were applied with a glue pen. When using flocking, be sure to press it into the adhesive with your finger before brushing away the excess to achieve good coverage.

Most of our Design Team members are playing along with our challenge today! You can check out their cards at the links below! To link your CAS Stampendous card to this month’s challenge just click on the little linky tool below and it will give you a spot to put the link to your card. We can’t wait to see what Clean and Simple Holiday means to you!!
