Happy Birthday, Kiddo

Hello! It’s Mary Dawn and I’m sharing a fun birthday card for that special skater boy in my life. I used a stamp positioner to stamp the lighter grey images to give my image a sense of movement. AND I colored again–Stampendous really is breaking me out of my comfort zone! And I’m totally loving it.

The Kiddos line of stamps is so super cute, I want every one of them. I love that they can be colored very simply (because, let’s face it, that’s all I can manage with alcohol markers so far) or shaded to perfection.

I think the pops of primary color make this card fun and kid friendly. My son just asked me if this can be his birthday card…I guess the card’s out of the bag now!

A Stampendous Birthday

Today is a very special day. It’s Laura Weed’s birthday! We just think she’s the best design team coordinator a team could ask for, so we decided to get together and throw a little birthday blog hop.

Please join in the celebration by hopping along, then be sure to visit the Stampendous Facebook page and give Laura a birthday shout out.

Happy Birthday, Laura! We hope you have an absolutely spectacular day.

Vintage Children Step Card by Annette Witherspoon

Today we welcome BlogStar Annette Witherspoon back again with some of the cutest images from our newest release. We love these vintage/retro children that Fran has so merrily playing on our latest stamps. They are just a treat to color in vibrant, modern colors, or muted, retro shades. You’ll find yourself thinking, “Jump, Jane, jump!” every time you color these darlings.

Hi everyone. Annette here with a step card featuring these adorable new vintage-like images of children riding wagons, scooters and bicycles. In fact, the set is called Children Play.

I decided to break out my Prismacolor pencils to color these images. I felt like the look of colored pencils complemented the vintage images. To give them an even more aged look, I distressed it with yellow and brown tones. The sentiment is new, too, and can be found in the Thoughtful Wishes set. I added some some lace and gems for the final vintage touches.

New Products Now Available on our Website

We’ve had so much fun this week showing you some of our new products.

They are all now available on our website in addition to your local scrapbooking and stamping stores and favorite online stamping retailers.

We know you’re going to love creating with these new images as much as our Design Team has.

Several of our team members have created fun projects to inspire you for today. Be sure to join us tomorrow as well when everyone will return with additional fantastic projects to get you excited about our newest offerings!

One group of images in our new selection has us particularly excited. Big, beautiful florals are here, just in time for Spring stamping. We’ve always said that when you combine some great flowers and just the right greeting you can have a card for any occasion. We think this catalog has both. These Stampendous flowers have been designed to make a dramatic statement on your card front, giving you lots to color if you love coloring, and some terrific options for paper piecing, embossing, Encrusted Jewel Technique, etc.,  if you want to try something new. Two new Perfectly Clear Stamp greeting sets give you the choice of dozens of card greeting options. Be sure to collect some of these beauties for your stamping garden! (we especially love the way Pam and Suzanne brought the Halloween Background stamps forward to make amazingly gorgeous backgrounds for these flowers!)

Coordinated Kiddo Tearing it up!

It’s takes coordination and Core’dination to skateboard like a Kiddo!

Our own in house designer, Debi Hammons, created this Skateboard Kiddo birthday card during our Core’dination Blog Hop- and it’s just so darned cute! Even though the hop is over, we had to show it to you just for fun. We love the way Debi tore the paper revealing the Krafty inner core, and we also love that she used our Crushed Glass Black Glitter to create a little asphalt for the Kiddo to scrape up!

Action Wobbles Week – Weeeeee!

We’re pretty darn excited this week to be bringing you another Blog Collaboration! Wow, we love playing with other companies (especially when their products make our products look so fun!!) (Well, more fun than they already look!).

All this week we’ll be playing with the folks over at Action Wobbles.  They make these cute, little, self-adhesive, plastic springs that you can attach to your creations to let them wobble freely back and forth. (yes…like you we’ve spent hours trying to make this out of paper with mixed results!)

You can trim the wobbles to be smaller if the piece you’re wobbling is little. Once they’re attached, you can flip the image with your finger and it wobbles delightfully back and forth.

Our Melinda Gleissner created the first card we saw with these, and we fell in love. Had to hunt down the wobbles people and beg them to play with us! Turns out we didn’t have to beg too hard, they fell in love with Melinda’s card too and “caught her wobbling”.

If they see your wobble card on your blog they feature you on their blog.  Here’s Melinda’s Card -

Well, we realized right away that our new Kiddos were perfect for the Wobbles team. They’re just so cute!  Bet you’d like to win some Action Wobbles and some Kiddos, too!!  Well, here’s your chance.

Our talented Design Team has been Wobbling their hearts out this week. Go visit their blogs each day and see what’s shakin’. Make a comment, and you’ll be entered to win!! We’ll give away prize packages of Wobbles and Kiddos! Plus..the folks at Action Wobbles will have prize packages, too.

Here’s who is playing today:

We’ll pick one of the bloggers above at random. They’ll pick a commenter at random. That means you want to comment on each one so you’re entered the maximum number of times. If you wobble with us today, you could win:
6 Action Wobbles Springs plus:
So, go on… get Wobblin’!!

July is All About Citrus

We here at Stampendous are gearing up for CHA* in Chicago, and getting excited about releasing new stamps and Fran•táge goodness.  Make sure you stay tuned here to the blog and on our Facebook page, so you don’t miss any sneak peeks!  And if you can’t go to CHA, you should definitely stay home and craft!  We have the perfect thing to get you inspired…our July Color Challenge!  This month it is all about the citrus colors.  Limes, lemons, grapefruits – whatever inspires you.  Here’s a little glimpse at a project from Melinda Gleissner:

She colored up the Party Hat Kiddo, and paired her with the Dream Text background and the Geo Bubbles (stamped in orange on the orange card).  Love the pinks and orange together!  For more details on her card, be sure to check out her blog post about it (link below).  And make sure you stop by to see what some of our other designers have been up to with citrus colors:

Asia King
Kristine Reynolds
Melinda Gleissner
Rhea Weigand
Tenia Nelson
Wendy Jordan

And we want YOU to play along with us!  Simply make a project of some sort that incorporates citrus colors and add the direct link for your project to our collection at the end of this post (or on the Stampendous blog) no later than Thursday, August 2 at 11:59 PM EST .  You do not have to use Stampendous products, but we sure love it when you do!  As an extra incentive for playing along, one lucky crafter (drawn at random) will receive this adorable Cowlik Birthday Collection  Perfectly Clear stamp set:

As an even bigger incentive, if you use Stampendous products on your project, that entry will count twice, which increases your chances of winning!  Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.  And of course, we need to announce a winner for June’s summer-themed challenge!  We had over 30 amazing entries, and the lucky winner is…..Tami B!  Take a look at her fun card:

We love that she used combined stamps on her card (check out her blog for a look at the inside, with a sentiment from Sincere Sentiments). The Tree Swing stamp really does scream summer, doesn’t it?  Tami, please email us at submissions@stampendous.com to claim your Friendly Phrases Perfectly Clear Stamps set!

We hope you have a chance to play along with us (you can enter as many times as you’d like!) this month…Happy Crafting!

*CHA is the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show – if you’re headed out there,  be sure to stop by Booth 807 and say hello to us! We can’t wait to show you our newest images and essentials!

Introducing Tobi Crawford

We’re so excited to welcome our new BlogStars to the team!  We’ll bring you posts directly from their lips (well fingers) several times a week! With no further ado…here’s Tobi Crawford:
Hi there! It’s Tobi Crawford here with a cute little card featuring one of my favorite kiddos: Balloon Kiddo!

dreambig

Isn’t he sweet? As you can tell, I matched the colors (Copic markers) to the patterned papers and embellishments (My Mind’s Eye – Follow Your Heart; Be Amazing) and for me, that’s the only way to do it. How many times have you sat there and tried to find the *perfect* patterned paper for an already colored image… It just doesn’t work!

So once I finished coloring I got to work on the card. I suppose I could have left the patterned paper as is but I thought it would look cool if I hand-cut a part of the honeycomb paper out and popped it up on a neutral background. I found a great chipboard embellishment (including the sentiment, thank you!) and stuck that on top of the papers. The top left corner was bare so I threaded a couple of buttons and stuck them in the empty area – it gave the design a little more balance.

Wouldn’t this be a great card for a nephew, son, or grandson?! I just adore this image… Thank you for joining me, and in case you’re curious, here are the copic markers I used:
