Stampendous Sketch Challenge!

Jenn Dove came up with the idea to do a monochromatic design for this week’s sketch challenge! That means that you can make a card or scrapbook page using one color of your choosing and any gradations of that color. Her example is this sweet and simple black and white card using our NEW Yule Penguin Perfectly Clear Stamps.

Pam made a festive Halloween card only using shades of purple. In her card she used the NEW Cling Stamp Hang Out Spider Set.

We’d like to congratulate last week’s challenge winners, Carol and Regla! The challenge was to use an Autumn color palette. Carol’s cheery card was made using the ever-so-popular Ruffled Bloom stamp, which come in Cling Rubber, too!

Regla designed a card with a wily Fluffles falling into a pile of leaves. She used the Fluffles Leap stamp. And if you think this card couldn’t get any cuter, the inside says “happy fall”:

We will be sending them a fun Stampendous surprise in the mail! You could be one of the lucky winners this week! So get out your stash and make something beautiful with Stampendous products. Post your creation to your blog, website, or in any public forum like Paper Craft Planet.com, Splitcoast Stampers.com, Stamp Shack.com or others. Copy the link to your card and paste it into the comment section of this blog post.  Find out more information by clicking on the “Sketch Challenge Rules” link at the top of this blog.

We can’t wait to see what you create with our products! You may use any other products that you like to complete your project!

Happy National Scrapbook Week!

It’s National Scrapbook Week and we here at Stampendous love our scrapbookers! So many pages and so many opportunities to use fun stuff.
Using our Sticker Background Technique makes pages that really pop!  Here are a couple of new pages that we have using this technique.

The Peacock page is amazing.  We just did this as a Make and Take at Camp Croppin’ in Calgary and it was a huge hit.  What’s not to love about these colors?  And so fast to make – about 20 minutes to produce this dazzling page.

Stampendous Supplies for the Peacock Scrapbook Page:

Why not try embossing a background for your page?  While we were Camp Croppin’, we also made this vibrant peacock card using the same Sticker Background Technique as the scrapbook page alone with embossing a background pattern. Our large stamps make wonderful all over patterns that are perfect for pages.  And our crystal embossing powder gives you a beautiful tone-on-tone background like the one on this peacock card.

Stampendous Supplies for the Peacock Card:

This page is using our copper glitter and velvet leaves.  Very elegant and pretty.

Stampendous Products Used in the Autumn Scrapbook Page:

Have you used our products on your pages?  Send us photos of your pages and we will publish right here on our blog this week!

Stamps & Glue Pad with Fun Flock Tutorial

We love all the great things Kimberly Crawford creates over at For the Love of Paper! Today’s blog post is a tutorial using stamps and a glue pad with Fun Flock by Kimberly Crawford herself!

1 How To Supplies_thumb[2]

When I use Fun Flock, The Essential Glue Pad has always worked well for me. There is a little trick to it, so read on. It also cleans up easily with stamp cleaner. (clean the glue off as if it was ink, any cleaner will do)

2 How To Stamp With Color First_thumb[7]

When I am going to Fun Flock in a darker color, I stamp the image in ink similiar to the Fun Flock color I am going to use first. Using acrylic stamps makes this so much easier.

3 How To Stamp with Glue Pad_thumb[3]

Once the colored ink has dried, push your stamp into the glue pad, just like it was ink. Line up the two images and stamp. Here is the little trick *let the glue dry for a minute or two*. Yep, let it just sit there. (remove the stamp though)

4 How To Flock Coverage_thumb[3]

After a few minutes, be very liberal with your Fun Flock application. I poured almost the entire bottle over this ornament. Gently push the Fun Flock down onto the image and let it dry for several minutes. (get a soda or a treat while you wait :) )

5 Seasons Greetings_thumb[2]

Here is the finished card. Fun Flock is wonderful for holiday cards and believe it or not, it is time to start thinking and planning for those! :) *wink*

6 Happy Fall_thumb[3]

For this card, I stamped the leaves on the bottom half of the card with glue and then applied the Fun Flock.

7 Butterfly_thumb[4]

8 Butterfly CU Butterfly_thumb[3]

On this card, I stamped the entire butterfly image on the cardstock and another piece of cardstock. The second butterfly got stamped with glue and then Fun Flock was added. I cut out the butterfly and foam mounted it. (stamping it first, lets you “keep” the antennae :) )

9 Butterfly CU Flocked Background_thumb[3]

The background was stamped with glue and then Fun Flock was applied. The butterflies were stamped with watermark ink.
