Last Chance for Altered Alice!!

Well, all good things must come to an end, and our collaboration this April with the Altered Alice Blog is one of them. What a fantastic journey through Wonderland this has been! Even our always jaw-dropping Design Team has succeeded in astonishing us by taking our Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamp Set to lengths even we didn’t expect.  We have seen some amazing art, and we’re not done! We’ve got one more installment here for you of “thud” inducing beauties from those talented ladies with whom we are lucky enough to associate.

First up is the supremely talented Jennifer Ingle – Just Jingle to you folks – She’s making Alice related Jewelry again with some simple shrink plastic and colored pencils. Poke a hole, shrinky dink, and thread a jump ring through and you’ve shrunk Alice to pendant size without even using a potion in a bottle.

Next we have a Splendidly Dressed Alice on a fancy but simple card by Wendy Jordan. A die cut doily frame really makes Alice pop against a background of Elegant Borders embossed in Aged Gold Embossing Enamel.

Ok…putting socks back on here… but wait!! Too soon.. you won’t believe what Janelle Stollfus has come up with! She has actually used Fran’s Encrusted Jewel Technique and stamped ON A TEA CUP AND SAUCER AND SPOON!! Wow… the ultimate in Alice blingware… You ARE sending that to me, aren’t you, Janelle? My office just wouldn’t be complete without it! You could use our 5-Jar Fran•táge Embossing Enamel kit for this!!

She even stamped the inside!!

Really, Janelle, now you're just making us look bad!

Gotcha, huh!? It’s really a Paper Sculpt Sensations  by Marion Elliot teacup! Guess who I’m chasing for a blog collaboration next!

And last, but OH SO NOT least, Melinda Gleissner joins us with an amazing Alice Triptych that I must talk her out of for my office!! It’s simply Splendid and features the most delicious red ruffles, the Opto Checkerboard Stencil from Dreamweavers, and our Poppy Bottles stamps trimmed and disguised as bottles of potion with straws. Soooo clever!!! Her little Drink Me tag featuring the Altered Alphabet and her splattering of Aged Gold and Chunky Clear Embossing Enamels makes this piece just swoony!! Alice in red has never looked so good!

We sure hope you’ve had as much fun with our Altered Alice Adventures with Wonderland as we have. This has been such a romp! We hope we’ve inspired you with some terrific ideas, and that you’ll create something quick and link it up to the linky tool over at Altered Alice.  Remember, it doesn’t have to be Alice themed to win one of our Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamp Sets, but Alice themed entries count double.  And if you don’t need this stamp set now, well, I’m afraid there’s just no hope for you at all!

If you decide to play, here is your last chance to snag our blinky for your blog! (PS… someone asked this week if you can make them “not” blink… sure, just resave it as a .jpg)

A Wonderland Blinkie for your Blog - by Lisa Hindsley of Stampendous

Always Alice!!

SSC1135 Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamps

We’re enjoying our wanderings in Wonderland with Alice in April.

We’re partnering with the folks over at the Altered Alice Blog to celebrate a passage from Chapter 2 of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland where Alice spots the “Splendidly Dressed” White Rabbit off to find the Duchess.

We’ve provided our Design Team and theirs with our Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamp set. We love all its icons of this Victorian tale.

We’re hoping you’ll want to play along and create your own little version of the theme “splendidly dressed”! You can link your project to the linky tool over on the Altered Alice Blog. Your project does NOT have to be Alice themed, but Alice themed projects count double! Three winners will receive a Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamp set of their very own!

Our Design Team has been coming up with all sorts of splendid creations, and today we want to feature one of our new BlogStars, Susie Moore, and her Alice creation.

Her terrific tag, Sorry I’m Late, celebrates Alice’s finery with all sorts of super fun embellishments! The stitched ric rac, the Crushed Glass Glitter, the  tiny playing cards and clock face, the metal findings (layered on a checker!), and the sweet embossing folder used on the bottom. What a wow! This piece packs a punch!

Other Supplies

Authentique Gathering Collection 6×6 paper pad
Ranger Distress Inks
Copic Marker
Copper glitter
Spellbinders rectangle die
Die-namics border dies
Misc: Antique rickrack, mini playing cards, black checker, metal findings, acrylic clock face, chipboard, Scor-tape, pop dots.

  1. Stamp the Alice image and lightly cover in Distress ink. Add some glue and glitter for her flowers and hat. Cut out image and set aside.
  2. Stamp sentiment and mount the blue paper on chipboard. Cut it out using a rectangle die.
  3. Layer background papers onto a chipboard tag shape and distress edges with ink. Add rickrack and two die cut borders that have been inked at the edges.
  4. Above the borders, run a line of Scor-tape and then sprinkle with the crushed glass glitter.
  5. Stamp the checkered floor onto white cardstock and color in with a marker. This piece tucks under the rickrack.
  6. Arrange the playing cards and the checker. Add metal findings to the top of the checker. Add the acrylic clock to the left side of the tag.
  7. Place the Alice image on the checkered floor. Use pop dots to lift her up a bit. Adhere sentiment over playing cards.
  8. Punch a hole at the top of the tag and insert the ball chain.

We’ll have some more inspiration for you on Sunday with the Altered Alice blog posting new designs then as well. Hopefully you’re thinking about creating your own “splendidly dressed” entry and linking it on the Altered Alice Blog sometime this month.
