Hey, Dad! Thanks!!

We want to take some time this week to thank all those dads who are there for us every time we need them. Always looking out for us, and our kids, these dads and grandfathers are some of the most stable features in our lives. Here’s to you, Dad! Our Designers have made some terrific projects to show we’re thinking of you. And, yes, we just had our oil changed, thanks for asking!

Starting us off in this celebration of all things Dad, BlogStar Rhea Weigand has created a gorgeous Shadowbox gift that any dad would love to receive! And she’s made a great tutorial for it. AND we want to thank her so much for her patience in reworking parts of it when one of the stamps she chose had been retired! You Rock, Rhea!!

——————————————-

Hello, this is Rhea.  This week is Father’s Day and I hate it that I am 2,000 miles away from my Daddy.  Yes,  I am a middle aged Daddy’s Girl, and I am proud of it.  I wanted to do something that was different than a card.  I couldn’t figure out how to alter a tie so I did a vintage shadow box.  Besides,  I doubt he would wear a tie with all this stuff attached.
It’s not hard and only takes 1-2 hours.

Here are the supplies you will need:

The Stampendous stamps I used for this project:
Spritz papers with Copics!!!  It’s fun and dries fast :)
  • Mix 70% Isopropyl Alcohol with 15 drops of Copic ink into a .25 oz spritz bottle.
  • Add more ink if you want more color and less ink if you want less color.
  • The color will lighted as it dries
Stamp images as shown.  Also tear apart light weight card board for texture and spritz.  Also stamp letters to spell out love and dad.  Here is a close up of placement for the letters, the post card and the world map.  You can also see Where I placed the burlap and ribbons for this section of the box.  (In the below picture)
Stamp and emboss the CRW087 Navigateur with both EP231 Lapis  and DP102 Detailed Gold Embossing Powder sprinkling more of the Lapis over sections of the image than the detailed gold.  Stamp the World Map on the main tag, as well as, the postage stamps from SSC1166 Air Travel Perfectly Clear.  Tie ribbon.
I hope you found some inspiration for Father’s Day!  Especially if he has everything, because I guarantee he won’t have this :)
Have a great week!  Rhea

Some of our other Design Team Members have been stamping for Dads as well this week. They’re using the new products from our April Catalog that are perfect for those Guy cards you need all the time. Be sure to visit their blogs and see what they’ve made, then get stamping for the dad in your life! (oh, and get your oil changed!)

Ribbon is Good for the Soul!

There’s nothing that gets us going at Stampendous quite like opening up a big box from the Ribbon Lady herself. May Arts just finds the most luxurious, gorgeous ribbons from all over the world. Soooo yummy! And when we get to stamp on the rich, vibrant colors of Core’dinations papers then tie them all up with delicious May Arts goodness…well, that is a good day! Just look what we have for you today!

Starting with a gorgeous burst of yumminess! Look at what Rhea’s done with all the ribbon and even some lace on what is clearly a “guy” card! Wow… She’s used some fantastic Aged Teal Embossing Enamel on the buttons and edges of the main piece, some beautiful fragments, all from the Teal Encrusted Jewel Technique Kit, and, of course, our new Giraffe stamp! Getting ready for Father’s Day big time. She’s even sanded the Core’dinations in the background for an earthy look that is all yummy texture!

Stampendous Gets Carried Away with STAEDTLER

For this blog hop the generous folks at STAEDTLER sent our Design Team a terrific package of products. The team has had so much fun creating beautiful projects with these terrific tools.  Legendary for quality and durability, STAEDTLER products have a long been our choice here at Stampendous. We tried to get a little “out of the box” this week to use some of the terrific things they supplied to us. Our own Fran Seiford created a page for a Mixed Media Journal using her favorite Karat Aquarelle Pencils, our Jumbo Cling Butterfly Trio stamp and our Bicycle Works Background stamp as well as our Teal Encrusted Jewel Kit and our Frantage Embossing Kit. What a fun way to fly a kite!
