Loving Wishes

We have another great tutorial from Yana Smakula here today! She’s using our Jumbo Cling Rubber Butterfly Trio again to show how these super versatile stamps can even be a darling Valentine!  Butterflies are just such a multi-use image with so many possibilites! Here’s one more that makes this set even more irresistible!
——————-
Hi everyone! BlogStar Yana Smakula here and today I have a quick and easy butterfly card using the new CRS5044 Jumbo Butterfly Trio stamp set and Black Glass Glitter.
I am honestly in love with these butterflies! They are so versatile, feels like I can use them over and over again on my cards.
As always, I made a few step by step images of how the card came together.
1. I first stamped the large butterfly twice on white cardstock and coloured with copic markers, cut the images out:
I wanted to layer one butterfly on top of another to give the card more dimension. I chose the orange one for the top and placed red one on the bottom.
2. I covered the middle part of orange butterfly with black crushed glass glitter. I used Zip Dry Paper Glue from Beacon Adhesives to hold the glitter:
3. Using a die from Spellbinder’s Paper Arts I cut a banner and stamped a sentiment from SSC1159 Rose Thoughts stamp set. Because my sentiment was straight and the banner had a curve to it I positioned acrylic block over the paper banner and placed the stamp on the block following the lines of the banner:
4. I adhered the banner to the butterfly and finished the card:

Paper Crafts Magazine – Join us TODAY!

Join us over on the Paper Crafts Magazine Facebook page as they drool over our fantastic new Plume Portrait stamp! We sent them some to give away, so you might get lucky! This elegant lady in the Plumed Hat is all ready to be at the head of your Easter Parade! Or invite her over for Fashion Week or just an Afternoon Tea. You’ll love the detail in her pretty face and how easy she is to color, or not! Wait until you see what our Design Team has done with her.

Plume Portrait by Debi Hammons

In house sample artist Debi Hammons used watercolors to make our beautiful belle into a fun friendship card. A little bit of Fran’s Encrusted Jewel Technique with Aged Gold Embossing Powder and Gilded Mica Fragments in the corner adds a special touch to this lovely card.

Design Team maven Pam Hornschu sent us one of our favorite cards of the January 2012 Catalog.

Plume Portrait by Pam Hornschu

Pam used our new Garden Background stamp and added some pearl embellishments and ribbon for a super soft card that would delight Mom on Mother’s Day or a special friend any time.

The rest of the team played along too with STUNNING results. They surprised even us and we’re used to their awesomeness! Check it out!

Quick Reminder about our Monthly Challenge! – Color Challenge

It’s been a crazy week at Stampendous! We’ve been putting the finishing touches on our new catalog. We call it the January catalog, but it seems the deadline is earlier each year. But it’s GONNA BE GORGEOUS!! We can’t wait for you to see our new images and products as {drumroll} Stampendous Meets Steampunk! Wow… somehow when Fran gets hold of something it just gets FRAN-TASTIC!

Anyway, we’re a little late on our Saturday post (because it takes a WHOLE Graphics Department to get this book out the door to the printer), but we don’t want you to forget about our Color Challenge this month. Pink…gold…cream…brown…  Valentines are in the air, and we’ve even seen a number of seasonal holiday cards with these colors coming in to play!

Can you add colors??? SURE!! Just use 3 of our challenge colors on your project.

Does it have to be a card?? Course NOT! Make whatever your heart feels like… a gift for your mom, a plate of stamped cookies, anything goes!

Can you win stuff!! Heck, yeah!!  Our fantastic Amore Frame set is going home with one lucky participant (and it’s a random drawing). Yippee!!

Our Design Teams took a break from their Christmas Card making, tree decorating, frantic shopping, holiday parties, and just regular life to create some inspiration for you this week. They’ve posted it on their blogs…so go check it out! Then dig out those pink stamp pads or papers or ribbons (any shade from coral to magenta will do) and show us what you’ve got! Post your creation online before the end of the month and link it to our linky tool below.

Taylor Usry is playing this week with her fantastic Pink Poinsettias. Taylor coordinates our challenge and is generally amazing!

Pam Hornschu helped Taylor coordinate the last couple of weeks and joins us with a beautiful winter greeting featuring our Postcard Pretty.

New BlogStar Jennie Lin Black is playing today with a sweet version of elfly love using our Snowy Short Stacks!

Wendy Jordan is playing along as well using our fantastic Damask Chair on her card this week.

Jennifer Dove has made a gorgeous card using the Jumbo Cling Snowflakes (now out of stock) and the Jumbo Believe in Santa sets, and she’s giving away Blog Candy this weekend as well!!

Melinda Gleissner posted a gorgeous  sample using our Pine Candle stamp! Wow, Melinda, this is really cool!

The always astonishing Suzanne Czosek has a beautiful birthday card using the color scheme and a fantastic cling stamp set to give away!!

It irrepressible Cyndi Bundy has a lovely valentine on her blog, plus a giveaway of even more stamps!!

We keep Kristine Reynolds hopping creating projects for Michaels.com, but she’s joined us this week with a touching sympathy card in our color scheme!

Brand new BlogStar Janelle Stollfus whipped up a Jumbo Thank You card for our challenge this week! Easy, simple and DYNAMIC!

Jennifer Ingle (aka Just Jingle) (still giggling over that one!) Joins us with some super quick and ELEGANT Christmas tags using the Charm Collection and the Seasons Greetings stamps…Wow, Jenn!!! Amazing!

And last, but NEVER least, Wendy Price joins us with a terrific snowman in the woods on cork!! Love this whimsical card!!

Saturday Sketch Challenge

This week was, hands down, the hardest Challenge to choose winners from! We have to show you what everyone made because there was just so much great creativity! So we will be posting those cards later this week. But for now we will show you the two cards we did choose…

Angela’s! Congrats, this card has a lot of great detail and I love the accessories she paired with the stamp image. It turned out so great!! Angela used the SSC263 Costume Kids Perfectly Clear Stamps, which will be available on our website later this week.

And congratulations to Melinda! I love how you used the background paw prints stamps as the background and to the U. Melinda used the Fluffles Wuv Perfectly Clear Stamps and the Love Journal Perfectly Clear Stamps.

This week’s challenge is to send us your best Christmas and Winter cards (or scrapbook pages) using Stampendous Christmas and Winter products, since we just released a TON of them online and at your local retailer carrying Stampendous product. The prize will be a Holiday stamp so you can use it to get ahead on this year’s holiday cards! Good luck everyone and check out what the design team made for a bit of holiday inspiration:

Cyndi made this playful card using the new Polar Path Cling Rubber Stamps set and White Ultra Fine Pearl Glitter.

Wendy made this perfect card using the Snowfall Rubber Stamp, Holiday Home Perfectly Clear Stamp Set (SSC1067), the Cling Rubber Cardinal Path Stamp Set, Cotton Ball White Flock from the FF906 Lollipop Flock Kit, white embossing powder from EK08 Carousel Embossing Kit, Copic markers and Creative Impressions ribbon
