More Citrus Inspiration

**Please check out our earlier post, too… we’ve had so much going on, we’re introducing new BlogStar Asia King today in addition to the challenge.**

Are you ready for Simmer CHA in Chicago?  We here at Stampendous sure are!  Make sure you stay tuned here to the blog and on our Facebook page, so you don’t miss any of our photos from the show this week! We’ve got tons of project and product sneak peeks coming for you!!

Have you checked out our July Color Challenge yet?  This month it is all about the citrus colors.  Limes, lemons, grapefruits – whatever inspires you.  Here’s a little glimpse at a project from Cyndi Bundy:

Cyndi inked up the Jumbo Cottage Rose stamp and embossed it with Detail Clear Embossing Powder.  She added a sentiment from the Friendly Phrases Perfectly Clear Stamp set and finished it off with some Taupe Color Fragments in the bottom corner (she custom-colored them to match her tag). And make sure you stop by to see what some of our other designers have been up to with citrus colors:

Janelle Stollfus
Kristine Reynolds
Melinda Gleissner
Susie Moore
Taylor Usry
Tenia Nelson

And we want YOU to play along with us!  Simply make a project of some sort that incorporates citrus colors and add the direct link for your project to our collection at the end of this post (or on the Stampendous blog) no later than Thursday, August 2 at 11:59 PM EST .  You do not have to use Stampendous products, but we sure love it when you do!  One lucky crafter (drawn at random) will receive this adorable Cowlik Birthday Collection  Perfectly Clear stamp set as an incentive, if you use Stampendous products on your project, that entry will count twice, which increases your chances of winning!  Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.

We hope you have a chance to play along with us (you can enter as many times as you’d like!) this month…Happy Crafting!

Welcome to the Stampendous/EnviroTex Blog Hop!

We’re so happy you found us today! We’ve been enjoying the fun crafting potential of combining our fantastic stamp images with EnviroTex Jewelry Resin from Environmental Technologies. Carmi Cimiata of the Resin Crafts Blog has helped us learn so much about how this product works, what it can and cannot do. We’re so appreciative of her and the folks at ETI who sent us all some resin to play with.  {big round of applause!}

We’ve prepared some fantastic projects to inspire you today. We hope you’ll run over to your local Michaels or other craft store and pick up some resin and some Stampendous stamps and get playing. If you make something fun, please take a picture and put it on our Facebook page! We’d love to see what you’re doing!

Here’s my final attempt at resin for this week (but not “final”, I’ve had a lot of fun with this). I used the Stampendous Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamp Set and the Steampunk Gears Perfectly Clear Stamp Set plus Lavender Crushed Glass Glitter for a fun Alice themed necklace and earrings. All charms, chains, bezels, etc. were from Michaels Stores.

Everyone else is playing again today, too. And it’s safe to say they’ve left the best for last! Prepare to be WOWed!

As you visit each blog, you’ll be entered in our drawing for a great prize package when you leave a comment! If you don’t tell us you were there by commenting, we can’t include you in the drawing! We’ll pick a winner from today’s comments separate from the commenters throughout the week. Get hoppin!

Let’s Get to Know EnviroTex Resin!

Carmi Cimiata is a fun and funny gal. She runs the viviacious Resin Crafts Blog where she explores the most amazing uses of EnviroTex Craft Resin. Take a walk through her projects, they will astound you. She makes it look so easy we just had to try it.

We saw the potential immediately! With all our terrific images plus all the amazing things you can float or embed in the resin…ooh… Fran•táge, here we come!

NATURALLY there are Prizes!! Carmi has 3 prize packages for our fans in Canada where she lives. She’ll draw three Canadian winners from the comments on her blog all week.

We have 3 prize packages for our friends with US mailing addresses.

  • We’ll draw one winner from the weekly comments on our blog.
  • We’ll draw one winner from the comments on Saturday’s Big Blog Hop
  • We’ll draw one winner from Facebook – You need to SHARE one or more of our posts about this project on your Timeline **

Each prize package from us will include a pack of Jewelry Resin, a bottle cap, bezel and button to try, and the Stampendous Charm Collection Perfectly Clear Stamps – perfect jewelry sized stamps for your crafting pleasure!

I used those fantastic stamps to make a really great necklace pendant!

I started with some cool bezels I found at Michael’s Craft Stores. (by the way the Jewelry Resin is sold at Michael’s as well) I’m loving their new Bead Landing products in the Jewelry section.

I measured the opening and stamped the tiny damask chair from the Charm Collection with white ink and the little pattern as a background with VersaMark on a piece of purple paper. I glued it into the bezel with white glue.

The directions tell you to paint a layer of white glue over any paper thing you’re using, so I did that. When it was dry I used some more white glue on a paint brush to add some Black Crushed Glass Glitter to the edges. Then I mixed and poured a very small amount of resin on this. Do be sure to read the instructions carefully and completely.

While the first resin layer dried, I cut some acetate pieces to size and stamped the chandelier on the acetate with Jet Black Stazon.  I placed it on top of the resin and poured more resin over the top.  Here is where my lesson of the day came in. After pouring my resin my son and I went to dinner. Just as a side note, wet resin sticks to cats. Cats run all over the house when wet resin is sticking to them. A few paw prints later, I just poured more resin over the top, and it looked as good as new. But do cover your drying project with an upside down plastic container of some sort. Lesson learned! Here’s my finished bezel:

And then I did a little more shopping in Michael’s jewelry section. My completed creation will be so wonderful for Halloween wearing!

Halloween Necklace by Laura Weed

You can see my resin overflowed my bezel a little. (thanks, cats!) I will trim that off with a craft knife once it’s soft cured for 24 hours.

So let’s check out the Design Team Members who have made something fun for us today.  Visit them, leave some love! Win some cool stuff!

If the links above didn’t make it on to the Resin Crafts Blog post, please come back here to continue the hop! – Thanks!

** Why do I need to SHARE the Facebook post ?  Because Facebook has changed the way they show posts from a Page to that Page’s fans. (There are millions of posts a day now!) When you “share” a post it lets Facebook know you want to see posts from us. It also tells your friends what we’re up to and extends our “reach”. Maybe they will come like us, too! That IS why we’re doing this, to meet more people! Plus when you share, it lets us see that you did, that makes it easier to pick a winner for the contest.

How do I SHARE a post? Visit our page on Facebook  – Stampendous – We’ll keep an EnviroTex post pinned at the top this week – just find it and click on SHARE underneath the post, it’s blue. It will pop up a window that says Share On Your Own Timeline. You can write a message in the box if you like then click Share This Link. That’s it…easy!!

In the End… It’s CLEAR, We Love Clear Scraps

Our Design Team is unanimous, we loved these projects.

At first they were timid…you want us to do WHAT?

Then they were worried… can I think of ANYTHING cute to do with this thing?

Finally they were excited! As they’ve shared their projects all week and enjoyed your comments and appreciation, they have really come to love these acrylic surfaces for so many things.

And NOW they’ve outdone themselves.  Sit back, have a terrific cup of coffee and something yummy to eat, because you’re about to be blown away. The projects they’ve created today are incredible!  Be sure to comment on each blog because you get one entry in our prize contest for every comment. We’ll post winners on Monday (or Tuesday…depends how many we have to count) so be sure to check back.

Here are the bloggers in order of appearance:

Various members of our teams have been enjoying vacations, especially the ones who are teachers in their real lives. We hope your season is going well, too! Why not keep a record of your travels by making a vacation journal like this one by Suzanne Czosek?

Paris Birthday by Susie Moore

It’s pretty simple, really. The Eiffel Tower and just a little bit of bling is all any girl needs for her birthday! And Susie Moore has created the perfect Parisian Birthday Card that says it all. Patterned paper and some jewels with our Black Embossing Powder are just the right touch. Some tickets for a trip to Paris tucked inside might be nice…and very thoughtful!
