Thoughts of You

Hello! Thank you for joining me on the Stampendous Blog today. It’s BlogStar Mary Dawn and I’m bringing you a cheerful card.

I stamped the daisy from Thoughtful Wishes Perfectly Clear Stamp Set 3 times on the sticky edge of a post-it note and cut out each flower to use as masks. Then, I stamped and masked the daisies until I had two corners FULL of them. I stamped the sentiment, also from the Thoughtful Wishes set; the shape of the curved sentiment allowed me to nestle it down among my daisies. Then I stamped the butterfly image from Cling Jumbo Spring Bouquet at the end of the sentiment, as though the curvy sentiment was the butterfly’s flight trail.

I colored the daisy and the butterfly quickly with alcohol markers. I added tumbled glass and salty ocean Distress Inks to create a bit of blue sky.

When my stamped panel was dry, I added it to a black cardstock mat and added the matted panel to a yellow card base.

Lil Joker by Barb Turpin

At Stampendous we’re really excited about our Vintage Circus images. Our sweet Lil Joker obviously has a secret… and it could be just about anything. Here BlogStar Barb Turpin hazards a guess as to what that might be.  (P.S. Barb, we think that pattern is Harlequin…but we’re with you whatever you want to call it!)

Hi there, Barb here, playing Stampendous BlogStar again…so many fun new products to play with!  Is this just the cutest ‘Lil Joker’?  I started this tag with the embossed jacquard pattern of the Core’dinations cardstock because it reminded me of the little french clown. Then I started thinking, is that what that diamond pattern is called?  Oh well, it’s late and I have to work in the morning…so let’s just go with that!

Happy Birthday, Kiddo

Hello! It’s Mary Dawn and I’m sharing a fun birthday card for that special skater boy in my life. I used a stamp positioner to stamp the lighter grey images to give my image a sense of movement. AND I colored again–Stampendous really is breaking me out of my comfort zone! And I’m totally loving it.

The Kiddos line of stamps is so super cute, I want every one of them. I love that they can be colored very simply (because, let’s face it, that’s all I can manage with alcohol markers so far) or shaded to perfection.

I think the pops of primary color make this card fun and kid friendly. My son just asked me if this can be his birthday card…I guess the card’s out of the bag now!

A Stampendous Birthday

Today is a very special day. It’s Laura Weed’s birthday! We just think she’s the best design team coordinator a team could ask for, so we decided to get together and throw a little birthday blog hop.

Please join in the celebration by hopping along, then be sure to visit the Stampendous Facebook page and give Laura a birthday shout out.

Happy Birthday, Laura! We hope you have an absolutely spectacular day.

Vintage Children Step Card by Annette Witherspoon

Today we welcome BlogStar Annette Witherspoon back again with some of the cutest images from our newest release. We love these vintage/retro children that Fran has so merrily playing on our latest stamps. They are just a treat to color in vibrant, modern colors, or muted, retro shades. You’ll find yourself thinking, “Jump, Jane, jump!” every time you color these darlings.

Hi everyone. Annette here with a step card featuring these adorable new vintage-like images of children riding wagons, scooters and bicycles. In fact, the set is called Children Play.

I decided to break out my Prismacolor pencils to color these images. I felt like the look of colored pencils complemented the vintage images. To give them an even more aged look, I distressed it with yellow and brown tones. The sentiment is new, too, and can be found in the Thoughtful Wishes set. I added some some lace and gems for the final vintage touches.

BlogStar Barb Turpin Goes Steampunk

Hello everyone! We’ve been so busy with all our collaborations this month, we haven’t had much time to focus on our BlogStars or our Monthly Challenge. They’re all alive and well, though.  Our current challenge is Fabulous Florals with extra fun given to those who enter with Stampendous flowers as the focus of their card. You can enter your card or project by clicking on the linky  to the right with our F.E. Linus cat lounging on it.  Speaking of this debonair feline, our BlogStar Barbara Turpin has made a beautiful birthday card for her son. Here she is to tell you about it!

Hi, it’s Barb here, playing Stampendous BlogStar!

My oldest son has a birthday coming up and he is a bit of a non-traditional, Steampunk kind of guy…and loves cats…so I thought of him when I saw this Stampendous Cling Felinus.

“F.E. Linus, top-hatted kitty and Spectacle Maker is a skilled Lapidary on
the side! That means he prepares raw stones for sale while grinding
lenses for your vintage glasses. This astute fellow is the ninth in his
line. Use him to create Fran•táge greetings for your cat loving
friends”.

I started out sponging some distress ink on the edges of the buttery tan card stock. I then stamped  F. E. Linus with distress ink, and stamped the flourish from the Cling Jumbo Tulip set.  Then I played with the Fran•táge technique, using Aged Gold Embossing Enamel and Tarnished Mica Fragments.  And don’t forget the sentiment…this came from Vintage Typewriter.  I stamped the paper image on a separate piece of light cream card stock and inked the edges, then stamped the ‘happy birthday’, slightly curving the clear stamps.  I attached the ‘notes’ and the metal clock embellishment with Beacon Zip Dry Paper Glue and then attached to a black card base.

Thanks for stopping by, always love hearing from you!
