BlogStar Tobi Crawford joins us again with this darling card using our Baby Giraffe stamp!!
Hi there! It’s Tobi Crawford here with another one of my colored creations and this time I used Distress Markers! I would have to say that colouring is my favourite part of cardmaking, so when I look at stamps I always look for “colourability” and that’s why I have always loved Stampendous stamps! Today I’m using one of our cute line-art images called Giraffe Baby. Check him out.
Distress Markers are water-based markers so you must colour on watercolor paper- which I love because of its fabulous texture. To accentuate the shadows and really enhance the depth in the image I used a charcoal pencil and blending stump on top of the image once the colouring was complete. Here’s a close up:
You may also notice that I sponged some clouds in the background with Broken China Distress Ink, I always add something to the backgrounds of my images.. They just don’t look right unless they’re in some kind of setting. Thanks for joining me!

That giraffe is adorable and the coloring is GORGEOUS!
I love your giraffe, Tobi! Even though those subtle clouds in the background float in the sky they DO make the stamp look finished and grounded on the card. Great job!
He’s absolutely adorable!
Oh, it’s sooooo cute, Tobi!!! Love the colouring!
